All-Star Point Grabbers Tournament

Alright folks, are you ready for the grandest installment in the Point Grabbers series of tournaments to date? You should be.

There will be 32 total players this time around, featuring 9 past Point Grabbers Champions and Runner-Ups, as well as Optimus Prime himself who will get special invitations. That leaves 22 slots available to the rest of you to see if you can stack up against the best this series has to offer.

I have chosen my favorite maps from the previous Point Grabbers tournaments for this installment (see below).

This tournament will feature 1 vs. 1 games with Flat Rate Cards and Chained fortifications (in order to eliminate the 'first turn' advantage so thoroughly discussed in the forums).

First Round: Classic, Flat Rate Cards, Chained
Second Round: USA, Flat Rate Cards, Chained
Quarter-Finals: Ireland, Flat Rate Cards, Chained
Semi-Finals: British Isles, Flat Rate Cards, Chained
Finals: San Francisco, Flat Rate, Chained

Players will be seeded 1 through 32 based upon current score at the time registration is full. The former champions will receive seeds 1-5 according to their scores, the former runner-ups will receive seeds 6-9 according to their score, and everyone else will be seeded 10-32. You must have a point total of at least 700 points at the time of sign-up to participate. PM's will be sent to all players announcing their games when play is ready to begin.

All players will have 48 hours from the time a PM is sent to enter their game.

Any players may join, premium or non-premium however, play will be scheduled to start no later than 72 hours following the completion of registration (possibly sooner) so any non-premium player will need to have one open slot by then.

Reserve players will be accepted in case of anyone taking more than 48 hours to join their appointed game.

The point of this tournament is to give some lower ranked players the chance to prove their skill and grab a few points from others to try and gain some respect. Because it is single elimination you really will have to be good to win and if you do, nobody can claim you won't deserve the points you earned.

Think about it, at worst you lose 20-25 points, at best you walk away with something like 80-100 added to your score. It seems like a good idea to me!
