Thanks to Josh Lyman for pointing out that would be completely constitutional. I can't remember the joker who started this thread-but mate, if you want tradition and arbitrary, unjust, outdated, anachronistic, meaningless conventions that stifle freedom, COME TO THE UK! You're in the wrong country to moan about tradition-the US has always been about progress, liberty, freedom etc-and abolitoning corrupt tyrnannies and traditions.
God Save the King.
Ron Paul would have sworn the oath on the CONSTITUTION! But the NWO wouldn't let him run for president and rigged all the elections. There, a conspiracy theory has been introduced into this sorry excuse of a political debate, carry on everyone.

That would be so awesome.
But really, can't the just swear their oath on the book of the law or something?
They could, but fundamentalist Christians would have a fit, and the last thing a new office holder needs is a bunch of angry people writing them angry letters and protesting out in front of their home.

And just so you know, here is a recent stat from the exit polls in the past primaries.... in many states Obama has captured 93% or more in many places of African American votes....9% of which have gone to college. Also very recently Obama has been swinging the white vote to his side...Out of those two groups, when asked....Obama's stance on Health care??....12% answered correctly......when asked Obamas stance on Border control?? 14% answered correctly...WHEN ASKED WHAT RELIGION HE WAS?? 4% answered correctly. When asked where he was from?? 49% answered correctly. I agree completely with this guy. You should all vote for Hillary!! Please please please vote for Hillary.
McCain will kick the snot out of her in the general election. Obama's a different story, he'll be tough to beat. So once again, PLEASE VOTE FOR HILLARY!!

Oh the political motives of people.
It's not enough to have a strong platform of yourself anymore. No you have to have a weak opponent.

Hey it's just life in this "reality show" world my friend.
Besides after the dirty trick she has tried with the Michigan and Florida primary votes (proving she's just as untrustworthy as her husband was), she deserves a good butt-whooping.

Oh, I know, I looking down anything you said at all. I just find it quite hilarious.
And yes, I don't like Clinton either. Loved her husband once I started thinking for myself and not whatever my parents spoonfed me, but she's just a bit too much of a fascist to me.

Haha, I'm sure I will in about 7 months. I'm just a recruit right now; I ship on September 2nd. But I did notice you were in Marine uniform and was about to give the same comment to you.

Actually, I'm the OLD guy in the photo. My wife and I were Marines 30 years ago. The young man is my youngest son who has been in almost 2 years now and already completed one tour of duty in Iraq.
That place is the Recruit Depot on San Diego and yes you will know it well. Take a good look at the color of those buildings, they haven't changed in 30 years and I doubt if they ever will.
Do you recognize my avatar (or should I say the PLACE of my avatar)?
It's near a yellow building.

... It doesn't happen often, Ohio becoming critical in a primary.
... I've decided to "cross party lines" and vote "strategically" this primary. I can't say I agree with more than one or two of Obama's goals for America, but I like the man personally, he's not a Bush or a Clinton (huge plus), and the word "hate" does not even begin to sum up my feelings for Hillary.

Wow, all the other cross overs I've talked to are voting for Hillary. She supposedly has "no chance" against McCain. That kind of thing is actually why I think the primary system (and the electoral college, and the near-impossibility of independent and third party victories, and earmarking, and...man, we need to change freaking everything) needs to be fixed.

as far as the cross over vote, i suppose putting hillary out there makes more sense for mccain, but i just didnt think he really had done enough to get independents in general to beat either one of the candidates as of yet. I mean hes having a hard enough time getting conservatives behind him to be worrying about winning other groups to get a general election victory.
