no, but you're welcome to add that dissection if you like...Wwoody123 wrote:Great work... really cool info to know.
Have you considered ranking them by percentage increase instead of raw increase?
e.g. BeNeLux going from 124 to 129 is better than North America going from 203 to 208.

I like how it is now. It's a 'what have you done for me lately' look at the maps.

I like a lot of those maps. Wide appeal or not, some people like them. Also, there are plenty of popular new maps as well.
You could actually participate in the process instead of always talking about how the new map suck.

hehehehe LOL you can't get out of that quickly Woody123....i've never used not having something as an excuse....

Dear Ed,
i know me and you dotn see eye to eye on most things. Take a look at the games im playing. There are only 3 games, and they are all on NEW maps!! This post by you again shows how map makers are cut off from the rest of the CC community. Just take a look at all the posts poping up, about how confusing maps are. anyways this aint the place to debate such things!

Wow... that's eye openning. Why would anyone play classic? I don't get it... but I see where this is going.
There is definitely unwieldy map proliferation. I can barely even find the maps I like to play on the "Start Game" screen anymore. What I suggest - rather than mothballing great maps like WWII Iwa Jima (visually and historically excellent, even if play can be tough) or VOTK (super complex bonus structure that actually works well) - is that the map selection area be subdivided by category... here's a few possibly suggestions, by no means have I completely thought this through:
1) Geographic Reproduction Maps (this would be your classics, 2.1, Italy, Spain, Carribean, etc. - probably most of the maps)
2) Historical Maps (e.g., Alexander, Mongol, Prohibition, Waterloo)
3) War maps (would overlap with historical maps)
4) Fanasy Realm Maps (e.g., Middle Earth, Seige!, Draknor, Space, Solar System, CCU...)
5) CC Games (chinese checkers, conquer man, crossword)
6) Castle Based Realms (a sub-category of Fantasy Realms: AoR, Feudal,...)
They should certainly keep a "show all" option, but a way to filter maps by category would be nice.
