I'm here as long as the tournament is here. But I disagree with adding more escalating cards as it will diminish the diversity of games in this league, which is why I joined it.

More games might be a good idea, but not essential. I like it the way it's running right now.

I like the game load. it gives time for the other tourneys i'm in and my games with the family. keep it up Optimus.

Post by oakleyshole »

i just got in, but ok with me so far
i don't think people would like it if there game's are alway's with to many tournament directers , (not implying anything here )but might seem as though friend's might have an advantage over those that don't have or want truce's , again not implying anything , just suggesting like asked too

t.y. for the chance to play Mr. O-hole :)

I am in for as long as the league continues. I like the play style be i fast or slow. I am on everyday so the slower games do not bother me.

Somewhere it was mentioned that games should be all escalating for faster pace... I don't think so. I mean, I know that they are faster like that but what I like about this league is that there are different maps, different settings. Otherwise it could be called AllEscalating League

I'm in it for good, even though I'm not so doing good, I just want to stick around from era to era so I have a steady amount of games going on.

I have no plans to drop out. My tournament load is manageable again, although it was reaching problem levels for me for a bit.

I have no problem with the current league pace. I expected this to run LONG and steady, so no problems there. If YOUR load allowed, I could see starting a 3-batch round on a set timescale (every 2 or 3 weeks, based on current play rates)), regardless of prior rounds, but I understand this might overload you.

I shouldn't have any scheduling problems for 3 months or so, until my next vacation comes up... and I'll make it work, I did for the last one. ;)

I agree with Night Strike. Night Strike doesn't have to ask me if I want to be in a tourney with him, he just knows. And now you know, of course I'm sticking around.

I intend to stick around, but I would like it if we played quicker. Maybe more games at once. But all in all i like how the league is set up.

Don't now why people on here don't like being cooks, remember under siege: A former SEAL, now cook, is the only person who can stop a gang of terrorists when they sieze control of a US Navy battleship.

Thanks for all of the feedback guys, I really appreciate that. Over the weekend I think I have come up with a better way to display the standings which will allow us to see game by game how each player is performing. I intend to work on that this week sometime, but it will take a bit of extra work because I'll have to recompile some information. Nothing major, just a little extra leg work.

As for the speed of the league, what if we were to do something like 1 new game each Monday or something? We could have 4 weeks of new games (1 per week) and then take a week off to let some finish and then start over with another 4 weeks of new games. We can always take an extra week off from time to time if the number of active games climbs really high.

In regards to escalating vs. flat rate cards, I think I have a workable solution. I am going to get rid of the no cards option for settings in the league as it seems that is where the real "slowing down" is occurring. If anyone has a big problem with that let me know pronto. I will stick to either flat rate or escalating cards, probably about 2/3 flat rate and 1/3 escalating from now on.

How does all that sound to everyone? I think getting rid of the no cards option speeds us up. 1 new game week makes us feel like we are doing more with the league, and a new mix on escalating vs. flat rate.

Let me know.

Now for the actual update for today.

We have 3 games finished in Batch 8 at this point, so I have added them to my records. However, the standings update will have to be later tonight because I don't have the proper computer with me to do it.

Check back later to see where you currently stand. :D

I wouldn't mind seeing the odd no-card game. Something like 6/10 Flat Rate, 3/10 Escalating and 1/10 No Cards.

With your schedule, those games should still clear up quickly too.
