How many threads per page do you want to see?

Post by wicked »

So Twill temporarily cut the threads per page while we're dealing with server/database issues from 50 to 25. Twill is considering leaving it at 25 per page once the issues are fixed, but I personally think that's a bad idea due to unnecessary bumping and creating new threads instead of looking back a page or two. Some have also said "OMG! The users will be too daunted with 50!" which I think is total BS, since you guys are pretty smart. Putting it back at 50 also makes a mod's job easier in several ways, so you can see why I'm for it. But Twill says f*ck the mods, let's do what the community wants, so here I am asking.... what do you guy think? Back to 50, which is what it's been forever, or keep it 25, which is what you've seen recently over the last week or so.

Since it's just temporary, I don't mind the load of per page at 25 threads but I'm not a frequent contributor and therefore, doesn't affect me much.

I wonder who voted 25.

50 FTW! It's a lot better with 50, so all topics with new posts will be on the first page.

50 is far better
Don't now why people on here don't like being cooks, remember under siege: A former SEAL, now cook, is the only person who can stop a gang of terrorists when they sieze control of a US Navy battleship.

AFAIK, the only people holding out for 25 are the mappers, who seem to think it'll draw more people in if they don't see 50 threads per page. huh??

AFAIK?

Anyways, I don't see how the 25 threads matters in the Map FOundary, all the active maps are on top anyway.

nope, need the same for uniformity throughout the site. Mappers haven't really given a good reason IMO to keep it 25, and they're a small part of the overall forum anyway.

The Ongoing Tournaments sub-forum REALLY needs 50. Some tournaments would get to the second page after just a day or so even with the 50. 25. is just annoying. Same with the Generation One clan forum. I had to look for a moderately popular thread all the way on the second page today.

I vote for 50.

Like OMFG! Can you even imagine the living hell of being stuck on page two ?

I voted 25... clicking next page is no big deal.

Also, it's the most unimportant forum, so they don't really count...

My life would be much simpler if I could not see any of them.

Im not sure the number matters as much, as the possible ability to jump to a page number in the middle easier... though, there may be a way to do this, that I dont know about...

does this include the OVER ONE DOZEN bumps you gave pinkyandthebrain permission to do or is that considered ok, since a mod gave it the go ahead.... ahhhh, wait, i forgot, that isn't any of my business... damn... anyway, i roll with twill. one of the few mods with a good head on his shoulders that i respect, and appreciate his well worded reasons for his decisions... nothing like having a mature conversation with another adult about an issue on the site.-0

Also, where is the "One fucking hundred motherfucking threads all up on one whole mammoth page because super fucking size is there this big old B is fucking at. Word" option?

That seems like the obvious third choice...
Yes yes, for people who can't read past the obscenities (which are required in order to demonstrate how [fucking] awesome the idea is) I'm asking for a 100 or even 1000 threads per page option.
