USL-1 [Regular Season Round 9 of 11]

Post by RedBullNation »

First off, what is the USL?
The USL is the American equivalent of the English Football League. It contains the 2nd-4th divisions of American soccer (football to everyone else). Although the promotion and relegation is very different to other leagues, USL's Division 1 is considered America's 2nd Division. There are 11 teams in USL Division 1.

Now, how does this tournament work?
In real USL, the 11 teams play a 30 game schedule. But since this is my first tournament, I will shorten the league to only 11 games in the regular season. The top 8 teams in the regular season will make the playoffs to decide the champion.

All games will be played Singles with Flat Rate cards and Adjacent fortifications. Like real competitions, 3 points given for a win, and none for a loss. A draw will be called after 10 rounds if no one has won, and both teams get one point.

I'll do my best, and please tell me if I'm doing something wrong. I've run tournaments for other things before, so that should be of help.

count me in as the Portland Timbers...Africa map.

So is the winner of the USL going up to the MLS now or did Seattle just choose to move up? That's cool.

Basically to be promoted, you have to have passed certain stadium standards from the MLS (like have a soccer only stadium, certain capacities, commited owners) and if you have the money (which Drew Carey has plenty of it), you can have a team in the MLS.

I didn't know Drew Carey was involved with the Sounders...

I find that soccer-only stadium rule to be silly...there is no reason you can have carry over especially if it's football and soccer...I could see baseball because the field is quite a bit different and the seasons are at the same time.

This is one important reminder.

Every game that goes past 10 rounds is a draw! It was announced from the beginning (maybe it should have been more clear), but from now on, make sure you know this.

On that note, Miami FC draws with Charlston Battery

I've sent seeso a PM and if they don't join after 2 days, I'll start looking for a replacement. We can make that game up at a later round.
