Yeah, but they don't have the Navy or Air Force to get across the Pacific and do anything to us.
Even if you didn't say you were American I'd know it from the fact that you think the only threat to America comes in the form of some kind of massive invasion fleet. That's never going to happen... we're two nuclear powers who live in the real world. The issue with China is that they own a massive slice of our debt. At any time they could plunge us into an economic crisis that would make the Depression look like some kind of hip-hop cocaine bath. The only reason they don't is because the dollar is kept strong by being tied to international oil prices, thusly China would destroy it's own economy if it did so, because America is the primary market for it's goods. But that's only as long as the current status quo persists. Thusly our prosperity here in America is dependent on a) the Communist government in China and the success of it's madcap capitalist adventure, b) the sheiks, dictators, and populist socialists running OPEC, and c) the stability of the world's oil supply. Make you feel confident? THAT is what they call a threat.
also in the second world war you did not really get involved until near the end. what about the native americans you also nearly wiped out.
every single war you have ther are more "friendly fire" casualties than anything else. proud british man.
