and it's the flaws that people seem to convienently notice, not the fact that almost all politicians are smart, well-meaning people....well, at least in today's world

you know what i mean. they are average human beings and they deserve respect too. they want to do a good job and make the world a better place, but it's hard because there is a lot of responsibility that is involved.

Yes they do deserve respect, as does everyone, but the only job most of 'em are interested in is lining their own pockets. Especially in the UK & USA.

of course you realize that most politicians would be earning more money in the private sector so people who say they are in it for the money are grossly mistaken.

True the money coming from the politics game is not massive (still too much in my opinion) It's everything else that goes with it. Ever heard of the old boys network? Similar principles apply.
