I guess i can fix the river by making the light blue streak a bit darker and ti won't overpower the continents

If you wanted, you could add the Rockaways, which connect to both Queens and Brooklyn.... as an extra continent.

Hmmm, interesting map, without a bad playability.
But, I cant see why to have 5 continents only for 42 countries. See, once the islands are taken, no way to get other continents. 3 borders, with a bonus of 5 and no other continents holdable...
I would suggest you split queens in 2 continents, South (Ozone Park, Jamaica, JFK and Bellerose) and North Queens. You can split Bellerose in 2, and merge another 2 countries, like Astoria and Sunnyside. Personnaly, I would also merge Auburndale and Little Neck, and split Georgetown.
How about it?

ok, i'm thinking i maybe shodul overhaul the graphics for the map, i'll retrace the borders again, and recolor stuff, clean up the lines, and slipt+combine some countries. I like most of your gameplay suggestions, but i'm not good enough at photoshop to change the map without making the end product look like crap. PLus the small modifications i've been making have been adding up, and making this map look pretty low quality, w/ inconsistent borders etc. I might also try a colored image bg for each continenet (think USApocalypse)

you should find someone who knows what they're doing in photoshop to help you then. i like the idea of a nyc map but honestly this map looks terrible. whatever you do...get rid of that king kong image. it's 2006 not the 1930's.

wellt he whoel point of that was to create a feeling of nostalgia, as if we were in the 1930s or 40s since new york has a very rich history. Plus i'm pretty sure thats the only major conflict (besides godzilla) NYC has ever faced in the past hundred years that would quialify as an all out battle.

well, in the colonial times, i believe that the Continental Army took it over due to the high amount of Loyalists there, but personally i want it to come out now'!!!!

ok, i'm trying a new style for the backgrounds of the countries. I think this comes out cleaner (once i darken the army circles, and highlight the text) Tell me if you like it. if you liek the CONCEPT, but not the SPECIFIC PICTURES i'm using then please say so. I'm trying to get this map done whenever i have a bit of time.
EDIT: i know, i missed erasing a big spot of the taxi picture. this always happens after i upload, lol.

Children, this is what happens to hockey players, druggies, and Hillary Clinton.
