well first off, the borders and red lines all over the palce make the map look kinda wierd and messy
you need to add names to the places and some borders as well. Dont' bother with labeling the specific spot where the city is, name the whole country after the city. I think its a decent start though
ok, it needs a bit of work, but this could be a good map. You should also add Ceuta which is a Spanish enclave in North Africa, this could connect to a part of Andalucia.
My suggestiong for converting a pre-existing map woudl be to use gimp or photoshop and trace the borders. Make a separate layer and just use the pencil tool to draw the borders you want. if its not very accurate it will still look fine once you get rid of the underlying map. This cleans up all those cities and extraneous lines.
I can't help thinking that without Portugal it just looks sort of... wrong... I suspect this is a rather stupid observation. Still couldn't you add Portugal and have it as an Iberian map?

yeah, i second the idea to add Portugal. You'd also be able to add Madeira and the Azores as additional island territories together with the Canary Islands.
Man, with this graphical habilities you cant finish a map... Couldnt you find someone to do the graph part for you? And the playability is terrible too... you need reduce the number of border countries.
