the model of this reply looks constructiv.
I will follow this standart.

- AS a brazilian, I really hate the original map by marv. I don't know if he is a brazilian, but in any way there is TOO MANY discrepancies with the reality AND the playability of the map is too limited.
- I don't like all [PICK A COLOR] territories. I like the extreme contrast in the maps TO PLAY risk. - IMPORTANT the artistic technic that you used is amazing, I will never be able to do any thing similar, but I think that more contrast is good to play risk.
- I imagine that use more contrast may turn the map more pleasant.
- I think that green is color that represents well Brasil. BUT ONLY GREEN NO.
- suggestion: don't repeat the colors, if you use green, use in only one region.
- color suggestions: really dark green, dark blue, yellow and the colors of the classic map.
- i don't like the way the font is now. Looks like if the letters have more space between each other will be easier to read. if possible, increase the size.
- I don't like how the impassable areas look - dot lines may look better
- I don't like the impassable borders. There is no REAL geographic explanation for this.

- I like the non-playing "grey" areas of South America
- I like the water background and the flag effect.
- The lines of the compass may look like the lines of the borders. The color of the compass is good.
- The patern may be improved, but is good.

I don't like the pattern behind the countries
I like the compass
I like The Fuzzy Pengui
I like the non-playing "grey" areas of South America
I would still prefer a green background instead of water.

Still working on it Jako. In fact, Lone.Prophet has offered to help me, so we are going to meet tonight (hopefully) on MSN to discuss it :D

Only reason I didn't post something in response to zoeirapura is because we talked via pm about it, too :)

Updated yet again....to make some of the colors seem more appealing to the eye.

Brazil Revamp
Original Cartographer: Marvaddin
Revamp Cartographer: The Fuzzy Pengui & Lone.Prophet
Restrictions: Marvaddin has the right veto any suggestions or changes to gameplay or graphics

New Map! Older Versions available upon request.

There are three issues we are already aware of, and will fix once this version meets approval.

1) The Gradient and Bonus Armies are not in the Legend.

2) The Territory Names are not completed for the whole map.

3) The Impassabe Borders still have a lot of work to be done to them.

Image

This update has the following:
1) Changed territory background colors
2) The Ocean is lightened to go with the rest of the map
3) Borders in the North West were given a different look (and the whole map with change to those if it seems it suits the map better

Still to come:
1) Blending between the Flag and the ocean so they seem to be one and the same
2) Change of compass, since this one doesn't fit the map
3) Legend change...experiment with the style now, and possibly a "mini map" legend
4) Change of font for the territory names

I don't like the font for the territory namings, it is too fancy-looking. Nice update. :)

I'm really not keen on the other country names, at least not in the same font, colour and boldness as the territory names. Maybe they could be greyed out, faded so they aren't so intrusive?

I know I put my support behind the version before LP made this one, but I have the mindset now that this isn't that much better than the original so what's the point of making the change?

No offense, but what's the point of doing a revamp if it's not going to be something that makes people say, "Wow. that's much better than what it was before." This to me says, "It's better than the original but not so much that it makes a big difference."

I guess then you will just have to "think Montreal revamp"

But seriously, we are still trying to work some things out, and still working on accomodating as many people as possible, so hopefully you will like what we have in store for you soon :D

well hopefully

And, the Montreal revamp IS way better than the old version

All the revamps have been exponentially better than the old version. So, I think this one has to live up to that standard.

I know, I was joking :D

But it will, don't worry...especially with help from people like you that are there to keep myself and Lone.Prophet on our toes and striving for us to make it better ;)

well since there's a competition going I'll do my best to give you guys equal feedback.

I'm sure you're already working on a lot of this stuff but doesn't hurt to say what I think.

I do like the font you are using for the territories. I hope you use this all around. Maybe have a black version for the unplayable countries.

I think the title and all that stuff needs to be change to match the rest of the map. In addition I think the legend area should be revamped entirely.

I'm not really fond of the colours you have here. Any particular reason you have them? Maybe they're Brazilian in nature? Same goes with the ocean colour. It seems to clash with the land quite a bit.

That compass doesn't fit with this map at all.

Overall the map feels all over the place. This is partially because you haven't changed everything to your style yet. But, I think much of it looks like they are part of different maps. I'm talking about three big parts of the map: the ocean; the playable area; the unplayable area.

Ok, thank you for the comments, and I will definately keep those in mind (most are already being worked on).

However, this is a "closed to the community" competition (meaning that we are not to post anything about the map we are working on in the forums, but only via PM to people), so please direct any comments about the maps to either myself or lanyards (depending on the map you are talking about) so we can make sure we follow the rules of the competition :D

Thanks again, and I hope the competition goes well :)

Wow, lots of activity on an abandoned map

Would it make sense to lock this one, and maybe duplicate Pepperoni's link to the alternate on the 1st page, too?
