Wisse never contacted me with images and information. I offered to finish the map so I could be played and he agreed but never talked to me after that.militant wrote:fireedud wrote:Wisse wrote:i am away today but i can already say that widowmaker is going to take it over from me, i will pm him tomorrow or after that with what needs to be done

OK here is what I have so far. This is the from the file that Wisse sent me. I am posting it so we all know where I am starting from.
But before I begin making changes. I am going to list the changes that he told me to do. As long as these are agreed upon I will go forward and make them.
Revisions that Wisse requested:
I will wait for discussion on these things because they do affect gameplay and bonuses.
Plus I will be redoing Wisses signature. I don't believe that Nintendo's Link character is allowed.

Revisions that Wisse requested:
- 1) Remove the two bridges from Hubei and Antrui (make Nanjing bonus 5)
2) put Chinese Kashmir in the bonus table with a bonus of zero
3) To be more geographically correct, can u draw some mountains to make a barrier between Ginghai and Sichuan? this will not change gameplay. it just looks much better!
4) remove the Yunnan-Guangxi border. Move the border of Guizhou-Guangxi south to cover the difference.
5) perhaps put some impassable mountains between sichuan and hubei, so that green and yellow are not always thinking about attacking each other; in real life, these are the gorge mountains (wu shan), close to the famous three gorges.
6) See image below
the yellow river has a great upside-down U bend in the river that is missing from ur map. the real yellow river is a barrier on the west, north and east side of shaanxi, but u have it incorrectly on the south and nowhere else!
Change the yellow river to follow its real path west, north and east of shaanxi, then remove the river south of shaanxi. build a bridge to link gansu with shaanxi, so that shaanxi is not separated from the other red territories.

I will wait for discussion on these things because they do affect gameplay and bonuses.

How about if you change the yin and yang together and 3 to just 2 and make one yin and one yang and 1+ armys for holding one of them and 3+ armys for both.

I am not going to change the map very much from what Wisse already had. I will not delete one of th eying/yang symbols.Unit_2 wrote:How about if you change the yin and yang together and 3 to just 2 and make one yin and one yang and 1+ armys for holding one of them and 3+ armys for both.
However, it does make some sense to have this edit.
There are 3 yin/yang
- Hold any 2 = +1
Hold all 3 = +3
Any other comments of the 6 issues Wisse left me with?

Thanks Cairns. That is actually request #3 from my list. I must have edited out the "rivers joining part".cairnswk wrote:WM...my only concern with this map was that the rivers should be reflected correctly west of Sichuan i.e., they do not join and should not join on this map.
Hope you can correct that.

as for the changes you said, everything seems good to me.
One thing I guess for Wisse to answer. I think I've asked this before, but I can't remember the answer or find it in the thread.
It seems to me that the Chinese Kashmir being able to bombard E. Xizang is a gimmick for gimmick's sake. I can't imagine what type of history would make this type of attack relevant for this map.

Thnaks for the input and I agree. This map was started when teh new XML functions were, well ah....new. I don't see any reason to have it now. If there are enough people who agree then I will contact Wisse and let him know.edbeard wrote:One thing I guess for Wisse to answer. What about the other changes? If I remove bridges and borders, does anyone have issue with that? I will let this go for a couple more days and then try to get a new version out.

it is now as this:
every country with a yin/yang symbol does get 1 army every turn
but if much people argue about it, it doesn't matter that much to make a bonus for 2 or 3 if you have them all
