Hmm. Well, I believe LS' claim, it makes sense for a commuter-like to be survivor instead of townie.

Yes, it makes sense for a commuter to be a survivor, but it doesn't make sense for a survivor to receive gifts that help the town. 3rd party is only there to help themselves. Furthermore, looking at life-saver's roleclaim again:

I am an "extreme commuter". I am only around on certain days; but I bring back a "gift" of sorts from where ever I've been. I can use it any time I'm in the town. I win by surviving.

Two things bother me here:
1) She says she's only around on certain days. Commuters disappear during nights, not days. It would be nice if life-saver could clarify this: did you mean you can't post on days when you're 'away', or did you actually mean to say nights instead of days?
2) The last line, "I win by surviving", sounds like she thought of a nice pro-town role claim, but then thought "crap, what if someone investigates me and gets 3rd party; i'd better claim survivor just in case".

My vote stays on life-saver. I believe that she's 3rd party, but if she's giving us a false claim it's probably a role that we don't want to keep around.


PS: kalish, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you today. I hope the court will sympathize with you.

I agree with Sierra_Leone's evaluation, although I am too preoccupied with exams at the moment to properly post I think life-saver's roleclaim sounds to me over-complicated and a cock and bull story. I think lynching her is the best decision the town could make.

An "Extreme Commuter" is such a wierd role I can't imagine anyone pulling it off the top of their heads. Even simply claiming "Survivor" would have been a better and easier bet for any kind of third party that has a reason to lie about their alignment and doesn't want that lie revealed (SK). If she's not lying about her role, why would she lie about her alignment? "Mafia Extreme Commuter" is even wierder than a normal extreme commuter.

Had been busy for the past few days due to exams which finished today, so I'll be more active. I was holding back my post till I read everything instead of posting for the sake of it.

Anyway on to the game, life-saver's claim matches her and looks to be good to be true but you know chu, he makes the weirdest roles, so it might actually be true. And while we are at it, FOS dustn quite hard to believe his cover-up and also FOS Sierra. That bandwagon comment might have been a joke, but you never know

Very nice Sierra Great idea. Although Extreme Commuter is not something you can think of the top of your head, commuter is something you can. And Fircoal games make everything extreme, so voila! There's your role claim.

Ok, back to the matter at hand: Sierra made a few good points and I'd like to wait for a comment on the matter by l-s before I make any decisions in that aspect. I will say FOS: crab, with a claim like 'extreme third-party commuter' that receives town-helping gifts, you can't expect people to be suspicious of it. Your FOS of Sierra sounds like a weak defense attempt of l-s OR you skimmed the thread pretty heavily for the last like 5-7 pages (probably it as you say you've been busy with exams). Either way an FOS is in order.

LS... you're not making much sense. You can only post at night, yes? Which means you can't actually reveal anything of consequence at all, since nights are spam-only. Is this right? If so, why haven't you been modkilled for talking during the day? Alternatively, does your commuter ability only work during the day, rather than night like vanilla commuters? Is your night-only post rule directly connected to your commuter ability eg you can only post at night (and on every second day) because you won't actually be "present" on days that you use your commuting ability?

Hmm...if you were a commuter, you would've known the specifics of your role. If you were a commuter, and you could only post at night, then you would've been mod killed for speaking during the day. If you were a commuter, you would've been dead for stating your win condition.

Something seems a little fishy, either Fir REALLY screwed up, or your completly BSing us.

I don't understand this "can only post during the "night" thing.

I looked here: http://www.mafiascum.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl/All_Roles

and it says "The Commuter is immune to night killing on even-numbered nights (due to being out of town)" which says nothing about only posting at night. Why would any player not be able to post during the day? is this possible? I've never heard of it. If someone can't post during the day, everyone would think they're submarining, put votes on them, and then they can't defend themselves.
