It's hard to go past an Islamic union, India or China.

The US's power is definitely fading and I think there's no reason not to see that continue on forever. As an American journalist on the radio said today (sorry I forget who) - The US can no longer be seen as an even handed power broker and because of that they are losing support. Look how many countries now support them in the war in Iraq for example.

I have been a long time critic of globalisation but it now seems that that will be responsible for China and India being huge forces with economies that will be much more powerful than the US in the future.

The other thing is that the US economy is based entirely on oil. Many experts now think we have reached or about to reach a point of peak oil (where supply and demand are the same) - from here on there will be more demand than supply - hence prices will climb dramatically and oil based economy will collapse. Of course there are experts who also disagree with this but certainly oil based economies are going to have to change.

China will become autonomous once the next generation of North Americans goes broke because they can't make any thing for themselves. ie. tshirts.

the major players would probably be a christian empire based out of europe, an alliance of sunni muslim nations in the mid east and northern africa, a chinese and russian alliance, and the united states and israel

China will rule because it has the fastest growth of any country in the world (economically): 33% each year. They will just grow and grow and then, within a hundred years, they will be on top of the world.

You may say that China has no political power, but you are wrong, as they are already one of the top 5 in the world according to the UN; they are one of the permanent members of the security council, so in that respect they are as powerful as the US

China may not be as influencial as the US, but that is because she is concentrating on building herself up, as opposed to the US, who is concentrating on fighting wars in Iraq and Afganistan. China may not be as feared as the US, but she sure has better potential.

The EU stands no chance because, as a collection of independent states who, until 50 years ago, were killing each other repeatedly, they each have a proud history, and thus will not become a single country, which is what it needs to rule the world.

Canada just has too few people and nowherre near enough current powere to get to anywhere near the top, unless it decides to merge with the United States, which would still be the United States of America (literally).

Russia is on the decline and is not influencing people nearly enough to become the most powerful country in the world. It has had its glory, but is not going to rival anyone much soon.

India could become powerful, and I think that it will be second behind China in 2100, and we will have a new rivalry, not Russia and the US, but China and India

You also said that this is all going to happen during the lifetime of the generation that saw Israel given back to the jews. Which gives it around 30 years max, i would imagine.

Also - out of interest -where in the bible are the birth pains mentioned/predicted? is gay marriage actually mentioned?

I wasn't angry, so much as irritated that you will never shut up about your opinion, because no one cares. You never stop with the incessant and condescending religious views. You can post your opinion that we won't see 2100, okay, that's fine, but repeating yourself and interrupting other conversations is not acceptable.

What my post was proving is that you will not be right about the end of the world, and you cannot say that the apocalypse is in the near future, because it is not.

lol It is near.... although we cannot know the day nor hour, there will be signs that the time is near. Just open a newspaper or the news. It is approaching there is no doubt. Stick your head in the sand and say, "I refuse to accept it". But that won't delay its arrival. :wink:

First off, there is global warming, which, unless stopped, will flood all coastal cities as the ice caps melt and greenland becomes green.

not good to say the least.

I predict a gradual merging of powers:

N.A. = canada U.S.A.
Latin America = Mexico and south.
South Africa
North Africa
Europe will merge = france, italy ,germany, UK, that bunch.
Russia and republics shall become the Soviet Union again and become friendly with China

East Asia = mostly China and vietnam, korea
Japan= shall remain independent, or at least not owned by the china confederation
India Subcontinent - India, Nepal, Bangladesh and their like.
Australia will merge to become Oceania (like in Risk)
Middle East will remain separated as they will continue their idiocy, except in Israel, which will expand and throw all the crazy people to egypt and turkey and have a huge border patrol.

Eventually there will be the West (north and south america) The middle (Europe and israel and Africa) and the East (Soviet Union, China, Japan, Oceania, and India)

They will all vie for power until the world ends in a war, people begin to settle other planets, aliens come and it is a war of the worlds, or there is divine intervention and god decides it has gone on far enough, scraps the civilization and goes back to building a more superior species that better fits his purpose.

In the book of Reveltion God says "the book (or meaning of) will be locked until the time of the end". We are now starting to actually understand it. Biblical prophesy is fasinating. And alot of what is writtten in Revelation could not have been fulfilled at an earlier time..... but can be now. One example is where it talks about the Army of the East crossing the Euphrates River. This would be an impossible feat years ago but today there is a dam there making it possible for an army to cross it.

But 1000 years ago and from that point until today people have been seeing signs predicted in the bible that they thought meant the end of the world was near. It seems that pretty much since that point people have been saying, "We were wrong before, but now we really are close to the end".

I predict that in 100 years time Christians will still be saying the end is near. If the religion still exists in 1000 years time they will still be saying it

yeah man, you would have thought they migh thave given up after the last few doommongers were wromng. Hell, in the bible St Paul thought jesus was comign back in a matter of years - he told people to leave their gardens alone, that it didn't matter cos jesus was on his way. People like Jat have been expecting this bullshit since the early church - and it's a clever device, because it is always juuuuust in the future. Never quite happens though, does it?
I mean - earthquakes, famine, disease, war - these have been around as long as people. Famines and diseases and -dare i say it - wars have all diminished. But none of that matters when you have a brick wall for an imagination.
