Skimming Points
Who feels that the higher ranks join games and create games for the lower ranks to join.So they can skim your points?
The reason I bring this up is,because it has been mentioned in my Risk Snobbery Topic.
I personally don't make or join games to skim points...I do Like to win,but ranking and points have little to do with it.

Don't now why people on here don't like being cooks, remember under siege: A former SEAL, now cook, is the only person who can stop a gang of terrorists when they sieze control of a US Navy battleship.

bottom line, no matter who you play someone is going to bitch at you
not always, occasionally people stop bitching about others and bitch about dice instead.

You have to drop these topics dude. In the start it was nice now you're overreacting. And the worst part is you're trying to persuade others that you don't skim points while you actually are one of the worst in this matter.
You specialised in a game type (I believe Magic) which has to do not much with the core of risk in my view.
I know you said also high ranks can join your games and get your points, but reality is that more lower ranks and noobs tend to join these games. While most top players know better and also mostly resent that type of game.
So maybe it's time to look at yourself sirius and realise you're one of them too.
Highest ever: 3038 place: 20th, winner of 12 tournies!

Yes, im sure when you join a very low rank, on a 1v1 freestyle game of magic, which you play almost exclusively is very challenging and fun for you. I doubt points come into your decision to join a game like that at all. Very noble letting that player get the chance to play a very high rank like yourself. Not snobby at all.

I do not think anyone would Say I creat games to skim.
You clearly do not... opening 50 games, and making them open to everyone is clearly not skimming. The games I was refering to, and the entire point of this thread was my calling out Sirius, for actively seeking out low ranks in freestyle games, where his chances for a win, were nearly 100% chance of a win...
I have no problem with this per-se... I occasionally do it myself, as do many... but then to use these games as evidence of being of better character somehow than players who prefer not to take advantage of lower ranks and calling those players snobby, is just utterly ridiculous and transparent.
Another thread simply meant for grandstanding and creating conflict...
Of course, Im not making blanket accusations and calling huge groups of players out. I focused exclusively on sirius's games, and his point, whereas he hides behind the safety of just throwing out the word snob with anonyminty, as he clearly is skimming points in games.
He complains about everyone elses games in his thread, and doesnt want to be called out, on what he is doing. Its a nice try, but its very difficult to do.
If all those players stopped playing the games they are playing and just focused on the few player freestyle magic games that sirius plays almost exclusively now, it would be an utter tragedy. He seems to want to be seen as a robinhood for the low ranks, as he takes thier points in games that statistically, they have no real chance in, while condemning those who have too much dignity to do it.
Look as his complaints. Look at his games that he is patting himself on the back for, and make your own decision... I happen to find it hypocritical...

AAFitz, you're talking about a guy here who thinks team games are for losers who can't win on their own. Truth be told, I'd rather be that particular loser who enjoys playing together with other people than a guy who skims points of the lesser experienced on a map with a few tricks that every monkey can learn.
Just take a look at the speed games of this month - mostly freestyle AoM and now even Bamboo Jack (thanks Warsteiner) because that seems to be only way to win 99% of your games nowadays. I've always felt that freestyle and sequential should have a separate ranking, but looking at the current composition of the top 50 I'm afraid the ranking means even less than it used to.
Prisonbreak, funny you should mention that. Their excuse for the freestyle triples was that there seem to be no high rankers that start these games (you could still start them yourself, but OK). However if you look at his sequential triples you'll also notice that they only join the lower ranks, even though plenty (if not all) sequential triples have higher ranks on team 1. :p

Just to be clear here... My posts are aimed specifically at serius's games, and no one elses...and not to say its personal either, because im just arguing the point... he says it was brought up in the thread, but it was me who specifically brought it up, and I was specifically refering to his games, and his alone.
This is a massive game with tens of thousands of players, and many ways to play. I feel players should play whatever they want to play and have fun with. I only point out serius's choices, because he is questioning others peoples game choices, and labeling some of them, but does not seem to want his called into question... he also uses them specifically as an example of what he feels is better for the site. That is the only reason I point out an alternative view.
My point is that negative threads like this serve no purpose. Its fairly obvious when a thread like this is started, it is meant to bring controversy. Its very easy to label a nameless group of players whatever you want. But typically you should expect yourself to come under scrutiny. I hope to god, that if I started a thread complaining about serius's games, that every person on the site would tell me I had no right to do so. Hell, I would do it myself.
I really do wish both of these topics would die a peaceful death... but that doesnt seem to be the objective here

If you guys only want to talk about my games..My email is doggy_sirius@msn.com.
This thread is designed for everyone.I don't think I have singled out anyone person in any of my threads.I haven't even singled out a clan or groups of people.
I'm sure you'll correct me if I am mistaken.
Geeez you guys are so defensive.

Yes, you are mistaken most of the time. This thread has been 'designed' in the hope that some people will applaud your heroism. You say you don't care about rankings or points, yet you continually emphasize them (stuff like 'you're not skilled unless you've had 2000+ points playing standard games' and 'Highest rank: Colonel (old ranking system)').
I don't feel that this topic applies to me at all, so I have nothing to be defensive about (and for the love of some fictional deity, please try and apply light pressure to your space bar after each punctuation).
(I'm sorry Fitz, please get them to lock this!)

KoE_Sirius wrote:I just wish the snobbery would stop in this community. I have never refused to play anyone because of rank.If I did then I would properly still have a crown. The crown would be worthless though.
If you can't play all of conquerclub, then it tends to limit our horizons. [/quote]
You mention your games in your second line of your other thread which you refer to in this one, and then go on to call others snobs, and imply the games you play are better. Certainly pointing out your games is relevant.
I dont blame you for wanting to be able to just criticize other players because of their game choice... which clearly you are by calling them snobs, and saying you are better because of the games you play. But you really cant expect no one to show that the games you play, could be viewed as worse than those of the ones you are calling snobs.
And saying youre not targeting other players is another nice try. Clearly you are complaining about players that play private games, and not open ones, and calling them snobs.
Some people will be fooled at your subtle attempts here, but hopefully not all. You're doing a very good job of it to be honest, but its still transparent.

Re: Skimming Points
you made your "risk snobbery" thread when you were a corporal or something. Your not even average at normal risk to be quite frank, but you have found a game that suits you. Of course your skimming points but in my opinion, it`s fair.KoE_Sirius wrote:Who feels that the higher ranks join games and create games for the lower ranks to join.So they can skim your points?

Now stop trying to justify how you got those points and the reason you made your original thread. It`s too transparent, man!
