i find the magic map to be very much dependant on luck in the first 3 rounds... if someone got good rolls and got the resources and village early... this person has practically won the game if everyone else has average rolls

not really. it has a lot of strategy in it. in 1v1 i've started second and won the game. i've had crappy rolls and still won. heck i even started second had crappy rolls lost 1 castle and still came back and won the game. so if you know what you're doing you can win a game. of course if the 2 players are evenly matched then dice do play an important part, but then again that's valid for any map not just this one.
as for more players even if a person has perfect dice and the others have rotten you can't say that person has won. there are still 2-7 other players in the game that can work together to stop the lucky guy.

the less than 1k will be filled. i have no doubt about this there are plenty of people bellow 1000 willing to join.
the 2500+ is indeed a problem that's why i made the thread in GD not tournaments.
plus i joined so i need just 9 more majors or above. are they really that scared? do they really value their precious points so much? i think other will step in and fill the first category. or at least i hope so. otherwise all the majors are a bunch of point muggers that are too afraid of a challenge.
i know you are not but maybe some of you could prove it by stepping up to the mark on this thread
Don't now why people on here don't like being cooks, remember under siege: A former SEAL, now cook, is the only person who can stop a gang of terrorists when they sieze control of a US Navy battleship.
indeed 8 more majors or higher are needed for that tourney.
