Multi Accounts

Post by Charbroil »

I have reason to believe I've found an example of one player w/ multiple accounts, evidence as follows.

(Game 1640)
2006-02-02 18:07:47 - Game has been initialized
2006-02-02 18:07:56 - apwessen receives 3 armies for 10 territories
2006-02-02 18:08:05 - apwessen deployed 3 armies on Argentina
2006-02-02 18:08:13 - apwessen attacked Peru from Argentina and conquered it from jrosen
2006-02-02 18:08:36 - jrosen receives 3 armies for 9 territories
2006-02-02 18:08:38 - apwessen fortified Brazil with 4 armies from Peru
2006-02-02 18:08:48 - apwessen fortified Central America with 2 armies from Venezuela
2006-02-02 18:08:59 - apwessen fortified Middle East with 2 armies from Ukraine
2006-02-02 18:09:03 - jrosen deployed 3 armies on Japan
2006-02-02 18:09:10 - apwessen fortified India with 4 armies from Middle East
2006-02-02 18:09:15 - apwessen gets a card
2006-02-02 18:09:23 - jrosen attacked Kamchatka from Japan and conquered it from yeerkkiller
2006-02-02 18:09:35 - Charbroil receives 3 armies for 10 territories
2006-02-02 18:09:44 - Charbroil deployed 3 armies on Northern Europe
2006-02-02 18:10:34 - jrosen attacked Yakutsk from Siberia and conquered it from Charbroil

2006-02-02 18:11:54 - Charbroil fortified Northern Europe with 1 armies from Great Britain
2006-02-02 18:12:11 - Charbroil fortified Northern Europe with 1 armies from Southern Europe

2006-02-02 18:12:24 - Charbroil fortified Eastern United States with 2 armies from Quebec
2006-02-02 18:12:37 - Charbroil fortified Quebec with 4 armies from Eastern United States
2006-02-02 18:13:01 - Charbroil gets a card
2006-02-02 21:07:20 - yeerkkiller receives 3 armies for 9 territories
2006-02-02 21:07:32 - yeerkkiller surrendered

This is in TURN ONE, mind you. Granted, it's not real proof, but it's definitely pretty damning against the last player, apwessen. Furthermore, in another game (Game 1641) w/ yeerkkiller, he also surrendered on his first turn. Whatever it is, something is going on with this guy.

Apwessen and another name, Alcibiades, were also accussed of multi-accounting in game 1168, although there it is was because of suspiciously rapid movements and some other odd behavior that suggested cooperation... I'm not too proud of that one, it got pretty heated with insults on both sides. Still, it's apwessen, so I thought I'd mention it.

Charbroil, your opponents in game 1640 played from IP addresses in Montreal, Columbus and Guelph. So they are legit. Dealing with cheating is gonna be a learning experience for all of us.

Yeah, when I joined the site there was no more surrender button. It was being abused, people were using it to prevent others to get cards.
