I think playable BETA maps is a good idea. However, they should be separated from the official maps and games played on them should not be scored. I see plenty of maps in the foundry that deserve testing on gameplay but never make it past the graphics stage.

Ranks to me are not really important in themselves. My ultimate goal is to play really well and to gain lots of skill. Each rank I advance is a step toward that goal, so ranks are important to me in that way. However, I still play the games I like. I try to stay away from 2 player and team ...

1337 score

I know this is pointless but my score is exactly 1337! (I hope I don't have to explain the significance of that number/word.) Anyway, it's on my profile if you don't believe me, unless I get killed in any of the games I'm in now. And yes, I know this is pointless.

The curve of the stadium and lanes in the bottom right looks wrong. Use a circle transformed for perspective to align them correctly. (I assume you're using Photoshop.) Other than that, it looks excellent.

After several weeks of being untouched (due to the frustration of downloading planet images over dial-up... I miss hi-speed...) my Star Wars map is finally being worked on again. I'm going for between 80 and 100 planets since that is what most people are wanting and should provide the epic scale the ...

They all seem to be related to geometry or mathematicians who contributed to the field, so they do keep to the theme. However, a few of them seem to be nothing ...

I'm working on a Star Wars map. I posted a draft of it earlier back somewhere. I was doing one of the galaxy though. I'm not sure if more than one map from the same universe will pass through, but if you would like to do a ground battle one, that would be cool. I hit an unexpected snag when I moved ...

Re: XML Modifications and Variations

The only challenge with this is that a font specified might not be carried on a viewers computer, and unless the code embeds the font, it could be a prob.

Do you know what font is used now? I don't recognize it and I don't think I have it. (I've browsed through all of mine to make sure.) I ...

I wonder why everyone automatically assumed a Grecian type map. When I first saw it I thought Mayan or native american of some sort.

Or am I just stupid? <--------(FLAME MAGNET YAY!)

In the book, Troy hadn't been under any real seige.

Leaving aside the fact that there is no book as such, the literary tradition does hold that the Greeks were camped outside for ten years, which would make it a pretty serious siege.

The Illiad details the attack on Troy. I'd call that a book ...

Forgive me for not looking everywhere but what is the latest version of the map?

I went to page 19 and I vote for the wooden bridges, but one thing about them needs to be changed. The width of the "planks" needs to be the same on all of them. You've probably fixed this in the 40 or 50 pages since ...

It's definitely Troy. If it's not, it would still be perfect for it. The island is Lemnos (their god is Hephaestus). The grave is Hector's.

Um, if Hector's dead, shouldn't Troy be on fire or in ruins?

Amazing work, mibi... can't wait to see the whole thing.

I don't know. In the book, Troy ...

actualy i'm not too fond of this idea. i think the army fonts should be the same as they might cause confusion for new players.

Question about Map Sizes

I was browsing through the map files, and I think a couple of them are wider than the maximums (600 and 800), which I thought were very strict.

This newer map for instance:

<smallwidth>675</smallwidth>
<smallheight>535</smallheight>
<largewidth>820</largewidth>
<largeheight>650 ...
