I am interested in joining TRU. I'll try to bring as much to the table as can be reasonably expected.

Re: The fundamental flaw in capitalism
The concept of the market regulating itself is quite an ingenious one, and it often works: people, working towards their best interest in the form of profit, will do what's best for others in exchange for better business. I, as a customer, am more likely to buy a quality product from a responsible ...

I agree with heavy. We did have a 'serious business' thread over at NOTA in which people could discuss the more...well, serious topics without the interuptions, but the chat forum was definitely the busier of the two.

Actually, I ought to clarify; "bother" is not the word I am looking off. Irritate is closer. I might not vote for McCain and I'm sure not voting for Obama, so I'd like a third option.
But thanks for discussing the matter with me, this could almost make a thread of it's own.

[Addressing Thor] Oh I think I have a pretty good Idea what you would do if you were in charge. I don't think you'd allow the Afghans to run their own government if you were in GW's position, am I right Son of Olaf?

Thor, you and Jenos are connected somehow, and at least one of you is a multi. Neither of you plays games, except for a perfunctory few, which you both lose. I will think about it, but first I am going to ask around about you.

Re: What is your ideal government?
The best way for a government to work is not to demand the market to work (marxism), but to work in and with the market (closer to the sort of socialism that prevails in Europe, so I gather). I guess that means that the US needs to act in accordance with the notions first explored by the ...
