At http://www.gimp.org? You know, the site I linked to in my post? I was so happy that I was able to remember the BBCode for making a text link to an URL... XD

If you're asking where in the site it can be downloaded, I'm sorry. It's been quite a while since I downloaded it.

Heaven & Hell

I'd prefer a Heaven vs. Hell map with something in between them (Earth?). I'd be willing to help. If there's a small world map in between Heaven and Hell it could be to Classic what USApocalypse is to USA.

Listen to this man speak, for he is full of awesome.

Maybe if not a small world map, a ...

Lord of the Rings

There's no need for another LoTR maps, as it's a fictional map, and I strongly feel that fictional worlds don't need more than a single map.

I'd like to link you all to the post in the strangemaps blog that places locations in the LoTR books in Europe, which would be the real Middle Earth, but ...

I agree in retrospect...they are kind of boring and bland. Maybe puns off of well known places? IE, "Burger Queen"?

Aye, that's what I'd go with. Burger Queen, Wacky Donald's, HOLE, Racy's. It's easily recognizable and doesn't expose anyone to ...

Looks good so far, but what is it supposed to be? Some sort of Pangaea? I'm mildly confused.

By the way, if you don't have Photoshop, you should try GIMP. It's not as good as photoshop, but it's free, and, really, the missing features are mostly very advanced stuff.

Unless either map has actually an awesome concept that you didn't bother to share with us, no, don't go forward.

Also, the first map is way, way too simmetrical. The second one might be interesting maybe if it didn't look like MS Paint vomit.

Also,

The Underworld is in Spain? As a guy who was once infatuated by a chick of Spanish descent, I am offended.

j/k, but I agree to the posts that say the Mediterranean is overused. Maybe you should mix real Greece with mythical/imaginary maps, Homer style. (Um, the Greek writer, not like Homer ...

Weren't you going to use the names of the native peoples for the territories? I find that since these aren't as well documented as modernish territories, you could change them to suit the gameplay more easily.

I really like the idea, and your map looks good, but I don't like how the rocky planets (Earth, Mars etc.) are a single territory and the gas giants are each continents. I feel that in the future the rocky planets will have more variety in them than the gas giants, which will require completely ...

I think all guards should start nutral and an extra gang added. make the guards give negative bonuses. Lets the guards act as a deterent.

Also are u goingto change the layout of the map. I dont see it as important just change the size of diffirent blocks and have it less symmetrical if u know what ...

If you ask me, I say geographical maps should be "normal" maps, without using many of the new XML, and the non-geographic maps should be the ones using all the features. Just because there are lots of fancy stuff XML can do, doesn't mean that every map needs to require an Illiad's worth of text to ...

I'm looking at this map, and... I don't know what the deal is with AA. It uses the new ranged attack features? Or just has a one-way border with the territs indicated?

I believe this is said somewhere earlier on the thread, but I shouldn't need to search it to understand what the map does.

Oh ...
