Hi,
I was reading through past threads in the map foundry and noticed a few people requesting a Pacific Theatre - ww2 map. Obviously the expansive dead region in the ocean presents a problem. I think I have a unique and potentially fun solution, but I lack the graphical skills to pull it off. This ...

Re: Somali Pirates
Then base the map on the geography, but don't typecast the region or the people there. The pirates make up roughly 0.01% of the population there, and there is not even a military campaign going on. You introduced this thread with talk of pirates, naval groups, prize cargo ships - I think this is a ...

Re: Somali Pirates
The ships are siezed in the Gulf of Aden, not the Suez, which is Egyptian territorial waters. They come from Puntland, but allegedly get their weapons from Yemen.
I said they come through the Suez - I didn't say they were being seized in the Suez. Where does the Suez connect? Eventually to The ...

Re: Somali Pirates
I'm a big fan of political incorrectness, don't get me wrong. But I think this map would really just be a weak Western impression of what's going on, and wouldn't fairly treat the situation. Honestly, does anyone actually know what's going on there? There has been very little real information ...

Somali Pirates
Does some graphics/programming expert want to put together a Somali Pirates map? Could be the Gulf of Aden, Horn of Africa, relevant islands, port cities, and a few prized cargo ships and enemy naval groups.
I'd do it myself but I'm a graphic design idiot.

[mod edit]No flaming in the foundry. We are all friends here! - gimil[/mod editor]
I said it wasn't the actual map or even remotely close to the final version. I can't do graphic art for shit. It's just something to help visualize the idea. Jerkass.

So this is what I've got. It is REALLY rough, but gives you an idea of where I'm headed.

Re: Castle Risk Rules
Hi. I've been thinking about this too.
I have a variation that I think would work...
8 empires:
French, Russian, English, Austo-Hungarian, Ottoman, Swedish, Spanish, German (Prussian?).
8 static capital cities:
Paris, St. Petersburg, London, Trieste, Constantinople, Stockholm, Madrid ...

Deadbeat Rules
I've just counted that in all of my games with ? New Recruits, at least one of them has gone deadbeat in 64% of those games.
Why are they allowed 3 turns? New recruits should be booted after one missed turn, and have that upped to three only after they don't deadbeat 5 consecutive games.
