I like the idea, but I don't like:
Symmetry ; Are not some cells in a hive unused? or Occupied with a growing bee? or simply dead and 'used up?
Colors ; may I suggest more distinguishable colors instead of various hues of yellow, green and orange? Whats wrong with red and blue?
Size ; It's not ...
