Thematically, the armies you deploy each turn are "trained" in between turns. The bonus armies you get from owning cards are still trained, they just don't get a choice of where to deploy (sort of like being trained as reserve troops first, then assigned to the front lines as needed). You can ...

On the other hand, 24 can yield four neutral territories for a five-player game, while 25 gives at most one for three, four, and six players, so I think they should be separate answers.
Ah, I didn't realize you were separating options that way. I grouped them together because there's a gap on ...

Maybe move "Goshen" and its army circle down slightly? Also, Detroit's army circle is crowding the border a bit. Seems like there's enough room to move it right a few pixels.

I like the flags, but I think they looked better in earlier versions of the map, when the coloured border around each ...

So, I'm going to put up a poll as to the number of territories this map should have. So far for options I'm thinking:

Fewer than 18
18
19/20
21
22-24
25
more than 25

Any other brilliant ideas?
I don't think some of those values are worth considering, due to the amount of neutral armies it would ...

I think a categorical order would make it much easier for a new player to see what maps are offered, and the maps could then be listed alphabetically within each category. Something like:

Location - Earth (all of the maps based on Earth's geography)
Location - Other (Middle-Earth, CCU, Siege ...

Nice penguins. I'm voting for Doodle Earth now

Seems kind of unbalanced though, with "Doodle" getting two pictures, and "Earth" getting none. Maybe the 'a' in "Earth" could be a tadpole or something? Not sure if a 7-year-old would care to draw a tadpole though.

If you're looking for ...

The text is really bad i think. It doesnt fit the game board at all. The wooden table i think takes away from the feel as well. maybe a regular landscape would add to the warlike feel. I would remove the arrows from the chance/community chest squares since you explain it already on the board.
I ...

I could shift the $50 up, but then blue can take the $20 and reduce his borders by one. In principle, it would give blue another border, but in practice it actually hurts the green continent.
Hmm, I'm not seeing this... - if you shift the $50 up to touch the $20, it would also touch Short Line RR ...

I like the border-less solution for port territories, but there are two borders which look a bit off:

- Green Bay has that peninsula, which looks really fuzzy without an "inner" border (the v-shaped border covering the East side of the main landmass and the West side of the peninsula). The ...

The Uninhabitable Zone is pretty distracting to me as well, but I'm not sure if simply toning down the redness is a good idea. It would probably be worse if it ends up looking pink or purple.

I think the borders on the Uninhabitable Zone should be changed. It seems unlikely that the Zone would ...

Nice. I like the new crayon effect. Good combination of the previous two styles.

Two minor graphical issues:
- All of the lowercase 'a's are lighter than other letters, which I like. However, the new crayon style makes them stand out much more than in previous versions. As a result, there is a ...

I prefer the old effect as well, although I do like the uneven thickness of the borders.

The problem with the old crayon effect is that it's for area filling, not for lines. I'm still using the old one, for instance, for the Greenland green. It looked horrible for the territory lines, though. At ...

Why not something like "Mind gives -1 army per Thought held"?

I know that in general, people prefer the legend in a standard format of [amount] [name] (or the reverse). However, this map already has explanatory text for Allied symbols, so maybe the focus should be on conciseness and clarity ...

As far as "rights of the mapmaker" go, I've always taken that to mean the right to continue working on the map as long as there's a reasonable amount of support. For World 0.5, my point was that there's no point in Foundry members making several posts to argue that it's a poor map. There's enough ...

actually, as a technicality, there is ONE way in which first player can't win on DiM's map - if the first player's only territory is the centre star :P

So, change my previous statement to "no possible setup could prevent one of the first two players from winning"

First of all, DiM's example is a very extreme case. The way it's set up, no matter what, the first person to get a turn can win immediately if he wants to. While build-up fanatics may enjoy it, the site has no method to freeze attacks for the first x turns, so the map is not viable. I think one ...

OK. Even thought the current poll is in favor of the anchors, I will ditch the anchors and make docks or some sort of connection from land to lake and I will also move the Detroit /Windsor bridge back. We can then see if it is really better.

Then in the space currently used for the anchor and lake ...
