Re: API usage guidelines

The API limit is accurate last I checked. At the moment calculating these kinds of statistics will be difficult because of that.

I think it might be easiest to slowly build a database of completed games. You can stretch this out so as not to go over the server limit. You should be able to use each ...

Re: Matchmaking - How Would You Do It

Unfortunately I don't think that the current API makes it possible to do the Map Experience thing. I can only make 5 calls to the API for this and currently already do two. I'd maybe be able to get details about 1 or 2 players maps played before I broke that limit. The settings was a thing I really ...

Re: Matchmaking - How Would You Do It

My current implementation is currently only in beta. But I understand your points. I don't have much influence over what gets developed on the site itself, only my own apps unfortunately. However, my apps are open source so anyone that knows C# or really any .NET compatible language could work with ...

Matchmaking - How Would You Do It

A few weeks ago I released a very early preview of Conqueror version 5 for Windows Phone. With that I mentioned that a few fun new features would be coming in alongside the standard bug fixes and improvements. I'm here today to talk about one of the most significant of them and the one I think ...

Re: Attack Odds Table

You need to look at the odds for 1 attacking die v. 1 defending die here. The chance of success here is 41.67%, which is exactly what the table says.

A question in that regard: I am trying to find the old Greacemonkey script Assault Odds, but the link given doesn't lead anywhere sensible any ...

Conqueror is now Open Source [WP][API]

I'm in the middle of creating Conqueror version 5. This is the fifth major revision of Conqueror, my app for Conquer Club. It has a whole number of new features and improvements. Chief among them is the complete rewrite of my back end.

So, why does this matter? First, there are a number of major ...

Re: Excel Spreadsheet

This will indeed be harder than you want as the points won/lost are not given by the API at this time. You'll need to use the API to get the players in the game and then download each games log and find the points rewarded sections to get this working. Your looking at some very scary macros. I've ...

Re: Map Rank integrated to the site

Maybe the tech guys can answer this, but how hard is it to integrate greasemonkey scripts into the site? Is the programming basically the same or are they completely different? It would seem to me that if they were basically the same, then the code has already been written and just needs to be ...

Weird Time Values in CC API

There are some weird timestamps being returned from the CC API. For example if I call http://www.conquerclub.com/api.php?mode=gamelist&gs=a&p1un=conrwronski , I get this:

<game>
<game_number>13159926</game_number>
<game_state>A</game_state>
<tournament/>
<private>N</private>
<speed_game>N</speed ...

Re: Conqueror on Windows 8

Hyper-V (Microsoft's VirtualBox) is included with Windows 8 pro. Also, I've been exploring Xamarin. Hoping for other platform news soon but my current apps and other projects are eating my time. 8 takes a bit to get used to, but I actually prefer it (especially after 8.1) to 7. Cheers!

Re: Conqueror on Windows 8

I don't know what would cause that to happen, my app supports ARM, x86 and x64. I have tested it on all three and so has Microsoft.
The app is for Windows 8.1 (a free upgrade for all Windows 8 users). You can get it from the Windows 8 Store, just click it from your Start Menu or All Apps page. I ...

Re: Mobile App

Hi, I had missed this post (Midterms). I am indeed the guy you want to speak to about mobile CC apps.

I've seen issues myself with the introduction of Polymorphic Games and a bug introduced around the same time which resulted in games with no players.

One big issue we have faced is developer ...

Re: Login method in API?

I'm away from my PC right now, but I do this in Conqueror. I just use document.getElementById() and set the text. I experienced weird behavior when I added a form.submit() to the end. Javascript isn't really my forte, but this method has worked when I've needed it.

Conquer Clubs public API m does ...

Happy Face. Now there aren't any more games with no players in them.
I'm going to do some more testing on this tomorrow, it's rather late right now. Seems to work and any errors should be on me now.

Thanks a ton!

Polymorphic Games Broke the API

It seems that the players field of a polymorphic game is left null when you query the API. This is completely breaking my apps and I'm sure others as well.

Here's the weird thing though, it's not always broken. If I query the game by the username the <players> field is null, however if I do the ...

Re: Conqueror on Windows 8

So, due to the slow adoption of Windows 8 tablets/PC's initially I had put this project on the back burner while I worked on more important things (school, work, other stuff), however Windows 8 has begun catching on with Touch centered devices on the rise, a new generation of Surface on the way and ...

Re: Best editor debugger.

I am partial to Visual Studio which supports HTML5 and Javascript (mostly intended for Windows 8 dev). You could use that and can get it for free... sort of. I would also recommend looking into Sublime which is free for non-commercial use. It is leagues ahead of Notepad++. I use both daily, they are ...

Using BOB and Other Tools in Opera

With Opera 15 the browser is now based off of the same engine as Chrome, this makes things quite interesting for those of us using Opera but unable to use cool Conquer Club features such as BOB.

Due to Opera now using the same engine all extensions designed for Chrome will function in Opera 15 and ...

Not sure how you did your math, but the odds of winning 2 v 1 are: 57.870%

But your table says odds of winning are 41.67% ???

Attack Odds Table

I've been working on improving my mobile apps by making the attacks odds calculator run faster. In order to do that I generated a table containing the odds of all attacks with less than or 100 troops. It's organized so that the number of attacks starts at 2 and defenders at 1. Attackers are ...

Re: conquerclub app

There are various apps for smart phones including Android and Windows Phone, currently the iOS app seems to be broken.

These are not official apps but provide handy features like turn notifications. I'd check those out.
