The player who finishes a round in a freestyle game should be able to go after 12 hours, a sufficient time for the other player to go in between the two turns of the round finisher yet leaves a sufficient time for the player who finished a round to play.

When I was playing a freestyle game and it was down to two remaining players, I had finished the last round so couldn't go until the other player had. They didn't go until about 30 minutes untill end of round, so I missed my turn, they got another turn in a row, and I, consequently, lost the game ...

If someone wants to waste the amount of time required, I don't exactly think that they are going to be successful in the parts of life that matter (or life in general, for that matter). Let 'em have their game.
