Re: Escalating Spoils

Thanks.

I guess if there was a strategically important territory you wanted to take that you didn't have the muscle for, it might make sense to cash in early then.

Re: Escalating Spoils

Thanks.

What about when you're not in a position to eliminate someone? Should you always wait until you have 5, assuming no overriding strategic advantage?

In other words, does the increase in reinforcements mean it's always best to wait until you have 5 cards, unless you can eliminate someone?

Escalating Spoils

Apologies if this has already been asked, I couldn't find anything in the search.

In an escalating spoils game, I always wait until having 5 cards before cashing in, on the basis that other people will cash in first, so increase the amount of troops I receive. I even sometimes hold for a few rounds ...

Re: Halloween Hollows [Quenched]

I too think that it's not clear what the different symbols mean.
"you may hold an item (the Salem Cross) that the witch cannot stand" implies to me that by holding that item, you will prevent the witch from attacking any of your skull territories.

Also, does the spider have to be held in order to ...

Hi. Can you explain what you mean by this?

Also, do you know roughly when it will start? I'm a free account, and right now I have all 4 active slots full.

Thanks

Re: First move

In a spoils game, isn't it really important to win a territory every turn? Otherwise you'll always be a card behind the other players.

Feel free to correct me! ;-)

Re: London - Territorial or Transport Links

Great ideas there CeleryUK. I'll see if I have some time over the next few days to sketch a rough map.

Re: London - Territorial or Transport Links

I think one with areas and also famous landmarks would be cool.

What's the first thing to do? Sketch a rough draft of the map and post it here? Might try and do that this weekend.

Cheers.

Re: How do you rate people?

Oh, OK. Thanks for clearing that up.

Still, a 1 star for fair play - that implies that I "cheated" somehow, or was otherwise underhanded, no?

Re: How do you rate people?

Hi. I'm a n00b to CC, so I was somewhat bemused to receive a rating of no stars for gameplay and attitude, and just 1 star for fair play. I was tagged "Clueless", and "Poor Strategy".

Now the tags I would probably agree with - hey it was my first few games - but what's with the star ratings (OK ...

Re: London - Territorial or Transport Links

A London map would be cool.
I think a transport one would be problematic, mainly because you couldn't easily decide which "continent" a "territory" belonged to (Waterloo is on the Northern, Bakerloo, and Jubilee lines e.g.)

But a map with famous London landmarks and areas would be sweet.

I might ...
