Ok....scanning other games it seems that when you eliminate another player you get bonus cards.

Is this right? The way to get more cards is to crush without mercy and be the one to eliminate another player from the face of the earth?

It would explain why there were so many cards cashed in at ...

Make that six. I went back to look again and see if I could figure it out. he recieved six by my count.
The only way it makes sense to me is if when it says "recieves a card" there can be more than one card given.

How do cards work?

I'm a newbie and have not quite figured out the cards. I understand the cashing them in but not how to get them.
The "How to play" tells me that at the end of each turn I recieve a card if I conquered a country in that turn. It seems to me that that is what I get; one card at the end of a turn. It ...

I am a new player to Risk. I never played the board game. I have 'newbie' questions. The FAQ file has answers to questions about technical aspects of the game site but nothing about the game itself.
I have questions like: "What do the country names and numbers on the side of the map mean?"
