i did say most of the countys came about after 1400,like hampshire only dates back to 1600's,i can only think of two countys that still exist from the dark ages that is cumbria and northumbria all the other countys that are about today came between 1400 and 1750

could make it somerset & wiltshire, seeing that somerset is a bigger country than wiltshire

intresting thought mibi, i know the type of crossword you mean word link crossword,where the ending of one word is the start of another thats ok but would need a lot of looking into because you could end up having bonus to big and could end very quickly if held on to for 2 rounds

neutrals are a good thing and a bad thing, if you ever played the world knock out risk, then you know that all matches are played with neutrals they are prefix, and you need to throw a 7 on the dice to kill one army, there are 3 armys on neutrals at start of game,could it be possible to do the same ...

if you look right the white boxes are the same size just that the outter edge is not showing the gray part unlike say the blue is showing a outter line, whitch are part of the box

the idea of the map being large is for a 6 man plus game the other crossword way to small to have a 6 man game on, and if lacky do up the numbers that can play in games them we are going to need more space for maps

if your going to inclued the republic of ireland then you should call great britain and not united kingdom

take a look at the crossword map in the making now, it rough drawing but it gives you insight how the map might look like, in the crossword posting there is a mix drawings of paint and photoshop so you be able to compare the 2

yup i do m8 thats was done on paint i not got my coral draw cd any more i left it at the old place plus your brains are needed

ok if we could have an extra 50 to 75 pixels added to the width the map could look some thing like this, legend added to the left side so there will be not need to scroll down
