Re: Master of Elements [05 Sep 2012] [p.3.3] - Territ Text?

Thanks for all the comments guys. I'm going on a vacation this upcoming week, so I'll look into them when I get back. I'll be honest though, I thought that I'd be dealing with a lot of these points later on in the process, such as the graphics and gameplay stages.

I just wanted to get the concept ...

This looks fun. I like that it's a continuation of another map.

Re: Miami [3 Sept 2012] v3, pg1

I like using the roads as the impassable boundaries. It kinda rings true to real life, esp in Florida. Maybe the cross walks could be a little more obvious? Perhaps the zebra kind?

Re: Master of Elements [04 Sep 2012] [p.3/3] - Territory tex

I changed the gameplay notes to the same font as the main title and moved things around so that they'd fit. I'm going to leave the territory fonts as is, because when I changed them, they were really hard to read at such a small size. When I englarged them to the point they were readable, they took ...

Re: Master of Elements [03 Sep 2012] [p.2/2] - Scroll? Text?

I'm not sure about image royalties, but I just googled "blank scroll" and selected large. I found two sites using the same image for different purposes.

http://jjermayne.com/cleaningoutmyclosetm.html

I'll play around more with the font.

Re: Master of Elements [04 Sep 2012] [p.2/2] - Scroll? Text?

In this version, I removed the blue background on the scroll as recommended. I think it looks good without the dark background.

Re: Master of Elements [02 Sep 2012] [p.1/2] - Scroll? Text?

How's this? The "brown backing" from the most recent update is actually the same blue as before, it just looks brown because I did a "multiply" layer merge at 75% opacity. So this is basically the same map with with most of the blue taken out, still using multiply at 75%. I left a little blue left ...

Re: Master of Elements [03 Sep 2012] [p.1/2] - Scroll! Text?

Okay, the scroll's back. I had to scale down the actual map so that it would fit. I kept the blue so that the map wouldn't get lost on the scroll.

Master of Elements [28 Aug 2012] [p.1/1]

Added the tentative gameplay notes. I decided to add a visual element, though I'm not sure if it's "too much." I present to you the blue map and the scroll map.

Here's the normal one:

Water. Earth. Fire. Air. In the old days the Avatar kept balance between the Water Clans, Earth Realm, Fire Empire, and Air Monks. But the Avatar has vanished and a new Avatar must emerge to restore balance to the world.

Re: Avatar: The Hundred Year War [25 Aug 2012]

Thanks koontz. This will definitely end up being the "house brand" version of Avatar. What comes to mind are cereals from when I was kid, like "Fruit Rings" instead of "Fruit Loops."

I'll take your suggestions to heart for the next update. Do you think it would be worthwhile to make a table of what ...

Re: Avatar: The Hundred Year War [25 Aug 2012]

Thanks for the welcome. I don't have any copyright permissions. I'm not sure how I'd go about getting it from a big company like Nickelodeon. Although, I picked up all of the details to make this map from a wikia site, which I maintains its own copyrights. If I got permission for use from that site ...

Re: Seattle?

It looks a little too big for its own good.

I don't disagree with you there. The Seattle Neighborhood Map is a little too detailed. If one were to go down this route, merging of neighborhoods would take place.

As kind of a reference, I was thinking that I-5, I-90 and Aurora could serve as ...

We already have a map of Puget Sound, this would be overkill.
