Re: Canary Islands -- New Update (still p. 1)

I am currently working on the next draft. I have already changed sea routes into anchors (sorry for the boats, maybe the boats come back later on) in several colors. Some terits (Playas de Tenerife, both Santa Cruz's and Las Palmas) have two anchors in different colors to make the sea routes connect ...

Re: Kitchen Stress Map

To keep the replies coming I'll be uploading a rough draft in one or two days, just to make an image of what I had in mind and to have something for you to reply on. I'll start doing something once I'm finished with the next Canary Islands update.

As replies to you:

No, I don't think the ...

Re: 9 levels of hell, from Dante's A divine Comedy.

Ehm.. No. It couldn't. Not in map coding, at least. You'd have to organize a tournament for that AND have maps for each level of hell.

Re: Food Chain

Wow, this is fishy

I really like it but I also think you should reverse it, making the attacks top-down. Seems more logical to me. Also because the bigger fish tend to swim more upwards and the plankton on the bottom. Your second draft appeals less to me than your third, as the lines are not ...

Re: Kitchen Stress Map

Hm... Why wouldn't objectives work? It's just the idea that the cooks are 'mighty' and they would never be conquered by food. Cooks keep trying.

Only way I see now to conquer a cook would be like having a 50 neutral between every two cooks. You could get the neutrals down once you're advanced ...

Kitchen Stress Map

I have come up with a new idea and I think it is totally fantastic! Let me explain:

The setting of the map is a. a frontal view of a kitchen or b. a frontal view of a fridge and some cupboards and a top-down view of the rest of the kitchen, like the... erm.. how do you call those... the working ...

Re: Danelaw(Ver 4.5)(6/5/09)

I really like the map seen how it looks: I do have some gameplay concerns though.
Will Denmark territories attack each other? If so, players could be eliminated first turn, even without taking one, as they have only one terit.
Do the boats attack back to the terit they go with? It doesn't say.
You ...

Re: Canary Islands -- New Update (still p. 1)

Next update will contain:
⋅ (White) Boats! (I think they will resemble the ports)
⋅ A non-palm sea
⋅ Toned down textures on the islands, to see if it helps
⋅ In some way or another, clearer sea routes
⋅ Long Santa Cruz names

What about having ...

Re: Canary Islands -- New Update (still p. 1)

Well, the cities' names are in fact 'Santa Cruz de Tenerife' and 'Santa Cruz de La Palma'. As most locals won't have size problems, they will use these names. It won't be a solution for our problem, though. Adding colors or [L] and [T] in brackets could help.

As for the port icons: having one would ...

Re: Canary Islands -- New Update (still p. 1)

The coloring would be an idea.. Let me see if that works out well. I will try this out in the next draft.
The problem with the Santa Cruz's is indeed that both the capital of La Palma and Tenerife are called Santa Cruz. I think renaming it would be rude, especially because it is the capital (or at ...

Re: Arena "Free for all"

That battlefield map is just completely awesome. I'd say quench it straight away.

As for this map: if you don't have anyone to do it, I would. Please just don't make me first choice as I have an other map already (Canary Islands) and I also still claim to have a life.
I like the 'gate' idea, but I ...

Re: Arena "Free for all"

I'd go for the neutral arena idea. It's quite realistic in this way that a person that enters the arena can choose any opponent to fight with, or maybe even more opponents. Then, the arena resets (he is forced to return) to let someone else have a fight. This would also allow someone to kill all the ...

Re: Canary Islands -- Update coming soon

So, here is the update. I've done a few things:
⋅ Cropped the image ⋅ Moved La Palma and El Hierro a little bit to the right (which was absolutely terrible, because just El Hierro consists of 9 layers: 2 masks, the land, the borders, 4 texts and the sea routes) ⋅&nbsp ...

So, the update is coming soon. Don't know when exactly, but perhaps tomorrow or in two days. If anything else comes up in your mind: please share! Now is your time!

Re: conquer crater map final before moving to draft

I really like the idea. Some things that I would like to remark:

I really really think you should go for that crater image. It looks absolutely amazing to play on. The sparkles of green are O.K., but be sure they do add something instead of making it look like a fairy tale or, worse, an image which ...

Re: Canary Islands

The map is still in Dutch, because I didn't mind translating it yet, but if enough people like the map I will make another draft which will be in English.

The translation will come soon. I will make another draft and that draft will be English.

I also had a few reasons not to make the sea routes ...
