It shouldn't even be a gray area. Sure, he attempts to make an alliance outside of game chat, but he IS going to announce it, so it is in correspondence with the rules.

When a 3rd party takes a turn for a player it is called "Account Sitting", which does not violate rules when it is not taken advantage of, i.e. "Hijacking accounts".

Just use the "Game Finder" to check if someone else has a game already started.

A lot of folks want to start new games even if there are identical games existing -- either becuase they want to play more than one or because they don't want to play with particular individuals .. for ANY reason ...

Even in real Risk, you get cards for where you place your armies when starting, so in effect, it is random.

@vtmarik: yeah, the servers are usually full of obnoxious ppl, but i just play with some friends on empty servers mostly, but the wc3 mods and SHmods are my favorite, i reccomend these servers
