Lunar Warr??

SO stumbledf across an article today that reminded me of the development of the Lunar War map with Natty Dread... apparently, China is looking to mine Helium 3 from the moon, just as the map predicted. Now let's just hope CC doesn't predict the future because Fractured America doesn't sound like I ...

Sculpted Maps?

Since you all are my favorite bunch of cartographers, I have a question for you regarding maps.

Have you ever seen a 3d sculpted maps of any sorts? Yes, I'm aware of shallow maps in relief on monuments and such, but I'm looking for something more extravagant. The reason I ask is because I'm ...

Re: Democratic Republic of Congo **Update 10/6**

Upstream - direction, against the current.
Downstream - in the direction of the current
If the Congo empties into the Atlantic, then I've made a mistake in my use of upstream and down stream

Also it seems I forgot to add the instructions saying Kinshasa can attack the US and the Soviet Union.

Re: Struggle for Oil [8oct13] v07 p15

First off, I'm glad to see this map back on track.

Next, what I don't like about the map:
1)Tanker or refinery collection bonuses. I'm just not a fan of collection bonuses in general. but I think it's a real problem with this map because, let's say I hold a capital, now I have to find as many tiny ...

A Soviet World (idea)

I was just mulling over an idea and thought it might make a cool CC map. what if the USA collapsed in the early 1990s and broke up into different regions while the mighty red empire stood strong in Asia. As a result, the rest of the world and Japan react and try to form alliances to support ...

Re: Democratic Republic of Congo **Update 10/6**

I'm saying that if a territory borders the river it can attack any territory upstream that also borders the river, for example, Shaba can attack Bas-Congo but Bas-Congo can not attack Shaba.

Yep, revive it.

Though, is there no connection between Alaska and Kamchatka? If not, that's great, I love it. Antarctica is the only trans-continental route to go which makes it unique enough to be a fun map.

While my Français isn't perfect, I think the title should be Massacre DE Paris. when I read Massacre à Paris I read it like Massacre to Paris, whereas Massacre de Paris is Massacre of Paris.

Re: Classic Cities: Cairo [28/9] Page 1/8

I'm liking it so far. But I'm a little disappointed that the most iconic site in Cairo is missing from this map.

What if the pyramids were a sort of key to unlock the borders for the duration of the turn? Make it a killer neutral too. For example, let's say I have 15 territories, so red borders ...

mostly just testing the waters for this idea. We have a victorian era map of India, but should one of the world's most populous states be limitedto just one map of their past?

I dunno if these are what a 6 year old would come up with but they are silly puns, sorta.

Indiana= India (as a kid I knew no difference between indiana and india)
Minnesota= Mini-soda
Maine= Main
Michigan= the state shaped like a hand
Pennsylvania= Pencilvania
Maryland = mary's land
Rocky ...

Re: Suggestion for a Babyloln 5 map

I agree - make your own space station...
You can also have players control aspects of the system for bonuses - like Air Generator, Power Room, Food Supply, ect...

The ideas of what you can do is limitless...
Just have fun, use your imagination, and create your own....

You can call it Babyloln 6 ...

Re: Iberia graphics revamp?

Well, I'm thinking something along the lines of the past revamps of maps: usually the boys in blue host a graphics competition.

And yes Congo is still in the works, it's just a bunch of stuff has come up all of a sudden.

Iberia graphics revamp?

What do you guys think? Is Iberia due for a good graphics revamp?

As it is, I think the map looks like a menu from a Mexican restaurant from 1995, a graphics revamp would improve this already fun to play map.

Re: Democratic Republic of Congo

Thanks Bruceswar! I'll work on those when I get some time.

By the texture on the right side, do you mean the South where the color changes to a light green. The Congo Map is actually a Satellite image of the DR Congo. So the changes in color are actually changes in terrain. This applies also to ...

I vote no because the overall concept is kind pf boring. It's just another collection bonus map with nothing interesting going on outside of the quirky background. If I wanted to play a collection style map, I'd pick one of the other interesting maps on the site already, I'd never ever play this map ...

Re: Democratic Republic of Congo

Ava and I chatted about the map today, mostly concerning her desire to put in a win condition. Initially she was thinking Kinshasa plus 4-5 cities, but myobjection was that historically, in the Congo wars, holding Kinshasa and a load of cities did not ensure a victor. Additionally, given that there ...

Re: District of Alaska - v11.1 [2013-07-18] pg12

Hey, I really love this map and really think you pushed Alaska into an interesting gameplay instead of simple geography, so excellent work on that. I enjoy the graphics as well.

But I do have one criticism, I don't like that the small boats revert to neutral. I enjoy the trench setting for games ...
