No objections to the current design? Guess I'll get to work on the large version.

yeti_c, I've had an email address change and hdd format since I last had the file, needless to say I no longer have the XML. Any chance you could upload it somewhere and post the link in this thread?

I've kept to the original board layout but given the thing a whole new look. Comments and suggestions?

I've been craving some creative outlet lately, so I might just come back and give this thing one last try. I'll get to work on it right away and post the results when they're done.

If spinwizard or anyone else wants to continue coming up with alternative options I'm more than happy for that to ...

I agree with Bad Speler, seems like the most logical process to me.

Not liking the idea of this 'Abandoned Maps' forum though.

I've officially given up on this map, but yeti_c is still responsible for the xml and in charge of the 'project' as far as I'm concerned... so anyone wanting to pick it up should run their ideas by him first.

I don't have any copies of the original artwork, but the following image (from p16) is ...

I think it's important we remember that we are voting for the map we want to see as the new Canada map. We're not voting for the one we think looks best right now. We're voting for the one with the best potential.
Excellent point edbeard and I don't think we can stress this enough.

Quenching

The Final Forge period has concluded for the Indochina REVAMP map. All objections have had their time. The Foundry and I hereby brand this map with the Foundry Brand . Let it be known that this map is now ready for live play (barring any Lack vetoes) .

Conquer Club, enjoy!

Well, it seems the majority are happy with the gameplay how it is, so I'm willing to admit defeat.

I still question the relevance of the German divisions. However, I'm sure everyone will just tell me to shut up and quench the map anyway. :P

There are some really nice efforts for this revamp and I'm expecting some close competition. I'm looking forward to posting them all up next week.

Before Final Forge, there at least needs to be a large and small version. I do have a couple of suggestions before that stage though.

Some of the objects on the map seem a bit poor in quality. Maybe it's just my eyes, or an effect on the arrows, but the normal and bombardment arrows look a bit ...

Ok, we were going to wait for the announcement, but we might as well set the record straight now, there's not much point delaying the decision on map sizes since there are a number of maps waiting for official confirmation before moving forward.

Taking account everything that has been said in ...

Currently there are 40 maps out there and they are all small!!! So i dont have a choice in what i am able to play and it is dictated to me by the site owner!!
I don't know how you judge map size, but territories is what it should come down to. With that in mind I would say any map with 36 or less ...

what negatives? please explain them, maybe we can come up with a solution.
There are a number of issues, and it would all depend on which method of a third map size would be chosen if it ever did happen.

I put the idea of Super Sized maps before Lack, Andy and others about a month ago with ...

The map's starting to shape up quite nicely. I don't have time for a detailed look, but something that is quite obvious to me is the placement of territory labels . For example Pyrenees, Garonne, Tarn, Ardeche, Mayenne. There's others as well, but perhaps see if you can better place the labels to ...

Just a little update on the situation.

Three versions of a map and other possibilities have been discussed at length, with it pretty much being decided that three map sizes is not the way to go. I understand your point about the resolutions DiM, but it comes with a whole bunch of negatives that ...

I understand how you feel Coleman, but people really need to work with the foundry to get maps through rather than fight it.

I'm really uncomfortable with the map how it is at the moment and I think something should be done, a small bonus is one option. There are clearly defined continent borders ...
