Re: Girl Burned Alive: The Quest for Morality in America
My point is that the very least we can do as moral human beings is to minimize the amount of pain we cause. Nature may be ugly but that doesn't mean we should be ugly too.
I feel that You speak of "Morals" in some sort of ecclisiastical sense. You also infer that nature is "ugly" ??? How can ...

Re: top ten worst ways to die in nature
When I looked at the poll-options I immediately saw my #1 and when I got my top ten together, I saw I'm not the only one who thinks that a forest fire is a horrible way to die.
You hear about those forest fire fighters who get caught by the fire. The last case I remember was something like 10 ...

Also please don't think that what has happened to that poor girl girl I would ever condone. I would be the first person to start the death of a thousand cuts on her perpetrators.

Re: Girl Burned Alive: The Quest for Morality in America
ps - also freezing to death isn't very painful at all..... (and I say that as I very almost died from it - several times - and have lost numerous bits of myself to frost bite - I can't relate any story about a Hot burnng to death as I havn't ever experienced a near death event from it -but I would ...

Re: Girl Burned Alive: The Quest for Morality in America
When I think of how many Americans could literally boil a lobster alive and then eat it, and think that there's absolutely nothing wrong with this, sometimes it doesn't make sense to me either. But the world still has a lot of horrible things left in it, and we should keep on striving to make it ...

Re: A rather disgraceful thing...
About time someone brought up this despicable practice of inviting people to games when they are of a differing rank to you !
I find it nothing but distasteful when a cook, private, captain, colonel, brigadier, or general etc... invites me to a game. I mean really !
who the f*ck do they think they are ...

Just as a by the by... the 1911 UK census form had a column at the end in which one could identify whether the named individual was "an imbecile, half-wit or feeble-minded".
It also had a column at the start to identify whether the position in the household was "head, wife, child, servant or lodger ...

Also, I'm still not getting email on my CC account. It's been really frustrating since I've basically gone for a couple years now without being able to get email since I switched to CC hosting or whatever. I'm mad because I think I'm getting a lot of e-vites to b-day parties and such but I'm not ...

Only the religious conservatives would have cause to dislike this, and no one is forcing them to join.
