I'd be super down to finish this. I'm not so active on CC anymore but as you say Fuchsia I come back from time to time.
Is the map making process still active in the foundry? If so I'll pick this back up at some point : )

Thanks everyone, glad to have your feedback.
Yeah that stats page is a little weird – not sure why you'd ever need to rank anybody by number of waiting games... but new features are always welcome.

What's new around here?
I haven't been on CC in so long (like a lot of people) and I'm wondering what's been going down.
Any big news? Forum drama? How has the pandemic affected CC? Do you guys on the forums still play as many games as you used to?
I know people are always talking about CC going down the pooper – but ...

Hi Ian!
Merry Christmas to you too... and happy spring! Hope the weather is as beautiful where you are as it is here. As always apologies for the slow progress. I will absolutely make a small image as proof of concept.
I will change the region names as per your recommendations and take on board ...

Re: CC has been declining
The owner automatically deducting renewal costs is also a point of contention. That really pisses a lot of people off. It also says wham is only in it for the money, not the game, not the community.
Sure, I feel you. I don't really care what motivates them. But the money will stop coming if they ...

Usually here is the other way around. Community shows involvement and works toward a goal and gets the support. If nobody shows interest it probably won’t go anywhere.

Re: CC has been declining
I will happily design/develop new map(s) for mobile... some maps could also be re-jigged to work better on mobile: i.e. no gameplay changes, but the map graphic would suit mobile better (portrait in orientation, less hectic and overall simpler in aesthetic).
However, the real answers are:

That's certainly a clear way of articulating Ian's idea. I think that overall there are currently lots of different dimensions to the map, and I feel that adding another element will make the map more complicated while not adding an appropriate level of ...

Re: CC has been declining
People don't game in their desktop browsers anymore. People game on their phones.
CC needs an app. Most maps wouldn't be ideal for the smaller and portrait screens, but new ones can be made. Luxembourg would work quite well. I can imagine lots of people playing speed games on their iPad/phone ...

Re: Europe map question
You're right. The names are debatable to put it lightly. There are many problems with this map – e.g. the 'Medeterranea' bonus colour doesn't correspond with the actual map colouring, 'Western Russia' is both the name of a bonus region and a territorial region, the impassables + one-way assaults are ...

t-o-m, since photobucket has started to block free forum access to images hosted on its servers, u'll either have to pay to let us see the map images or, preferably, find another site to host them.
