Re: Picking on newbies - yeah right

Recently read this negative feedback:

This player likes to join games with low ranking players. It seems that he likes to intimidate people with his "Rank" and then destroy their desire to play the game. I have been discouraged by his actions and have decided after I have completed the present ...

Guys (and any of you ladies out there that read this),

I must apologize for the comments of my nephew.

Although I agree with the fact that "is it fair for higher ranking players to join a game started by a private or ?" his comments were totally uncalled for.

I tried to handle the problem ...

But, you know the problem with kids these days, they get that gotta win attitude, and when they don't they get pissed off.

Tell them to get a jobby job and start smoking reefer. They will forget all about CC.

He already does. And drinks Yeagermeister (sp), and pops percs.

Give me a good ...

I've tried to get them to understand it's a game, not life, just a game to kill time and have fun with. Have a few beers before you play and then just say screw it.

KoolBak, I told them "Take your lumps and live with it, if you can't take it, tuff sh..!"

But, you know the problem with kids ...

As I remember from playing in the mid 60's, defender could also opt to roll only one die.

One thing someone forgot to tell you, in order to get a card you have to conquer another country from an opponent.

I am genuinely surprised the range of ages, i half expected a bunch of kids, but there are fair share of older adults on here. (I'm 27)

And some of us were playing this game before you were even a twinkle in your daddy's eye.

I'm 53, and played the board game near on to when it first came ...

They should try to be the last ones to join the games so that they can see who is already playing.

OK, but what if there are only a few maps they think they might like to play and want to start their own game?

What's to stop the experienced players from joining that game?

I know I have ...

Old guys vs new guys

I really already know what the answers are that I'm going to get from this topic....but I promised my nephew and his friends I would bring it up.

Is it fair, that a player, say Captain or above join a game with recruits, privates, etc.

In some cases the recuits have a) never played the game or ...

A "Surrender" button could be useful if someone wasn't gonna be on for a while.

Ia agree with this. I was hospitalized unexpectedly and had to deadbeat 3 games.

I also agree you should battle to the end, but there are times....

Then, since there is no longer a way to "ignore" people, or any way to resign from a game with a bunch of deadbeats and I don't have that many people in my circle of friends that enjoy this game, I guess I will just have to not come to the sight to play any longer.

I played this game as a teen ...

How do you surrender from a game?

I want to know if this question has been answered. I want to know how to surrender without being called a deadbeat. I recently had to have a stay in the hospital, and I don't think it is fair that everyone in the game I am playing has to wait 72 hours to ...
