Hi all,
I hate that I couldn't finish this tourney out b/c I've been so slammed with school this summer & now this fall. I'm looking forward to seeing a completed crossword soon though!

Re: Randomize team partners, please!
There should be more options to allow players to join half-filled public games w/their friends. This might include some version of being able to "save spots" for a reasonable amount of time.
So you want to play with certain people? That is why they made Private games.
You guys are still missing ...

Re: Mentoring Pilot Program
The term you're looking for is protege. Much easier on the ears than mentoree (which is not a word). I'm a doctoral student and my research is in mentoring, so I'm at least qualified to clear up the semantic nightmare created by the first post.
Otherwise, I'm really interested in how this turns out ...

...but we typically just stick to tourneys b/c joining public games is too risky.
What's risky about joining a public game?

Re: Vote for a Draw in Team Game *pending*
This idea started because of newbie deadbeats. Wouldn't a major part of the issue be resolved if the "no points for newbie deadbeats" rule was implemented? Currently on Lack's To-Do list (and has been for most of 3 years).

Re: Option To Make Private Games Go Public
Now I think I'd rather implement some sort of reserve seat feature instead of this one.
It would be more useful and versatile, don't you think?

Nice looking revision for sure.
I think the inset definitely needs a little more clarity. Perhaps a type of "magnification" would help. Something like holding a magnifying glass over the map or showing it lifted somehow. Perhaps the inset and legend should be switched in relative location to ...

Hi div,
I've got a crazy summer starting, well, now. I'm attempting to get out of CC all together for a while. Can you please try to find a reserve?
Thanks,
Laci

Seems reasonable. At this point, any or all ideas along these lines would be a valued improvement.

Re: Midwest League
Hey blacky,
Could you put up some kind of schedule? I feel like I've played a whole bunch of games on the same maps and against the same opponents. Seems like I should've played somebody else by now.
Thanks,
Laci

Re: Bring a Friend Along: Doubles Tournament [Final Round]
Hey Tack,
2 of our games just disappeared after not filling for 2 weeks. Might want to check to see if the freemies have the open slots so we can finish this thing.
Best,
Laci

Always nice to run into another Hog fan on CC. I think there are enough of us that we could make our own clan.
If games aren't filled w/in 2 weeks, they disappear.

Re: Instant Crossword!
Thanks for considering these changes.
I'm annoyed for you that it's so difficult to get people to ask for letters. When you're playing in a tournament, it's common courtesy to post notification of victories to the thread. In this case, winners should also request their letters.

Re: Temporary 'Private' status during game creation.
If you create a private game, you set up a password, right? So give the password to your teammates via PM, then once they have joined, publish the password in the Callouts forum. Voila, your private game is now open to anyone. If you want, you could even first give the password to someone who ...

Re: falsely accused of being multis [Closed]
Thanks to all for contributing their opinions. I have quite enjoyed this debate. Lance points to the potential abuse of a system where users could "declare" their real-world relations who are also playing on this site. However, I think something along those lines would be useful if it could somehow ...

There can be more than 2 teams though, and it's also got to work for non-team games.
