Re: POLL - Auto Snapshot at game start

It seems to me so obvious that i can't understand why it is not already implemented.
The whole principle of snapshots is that you can see what has changed since your last turn. A snapshot of the game at the beginning is effectively at your turn #0.
The only downside is the amount of extra storage ...

Re: HA's 200th Tourney beat The Conqueror for premium

MoreTeaVicar gratefully accepts the invitation to the Tournament.

Preference would be for Classic or World 2.1 maps

Cheers and let battle commence.....

Re: Option To Make Private Games Go Public *To-Do*

This sounds like a great suggestion, any indication when it will become a reality.

Re: Suggestion - Private Game that auto converts to Public Game

my apologies,
I didn't notice it as it was tucked away in Site section and not in the gameplay section where speed game to casual game to-do is!

Can you move this comment and time based automatic conversion variation over to that topic heading please

Cheers

Re: NEW RANKS-page 1

I prefer the current style of insignia. They have a 'classic' or 'real' look to them. The majority of the suggested insignia have an almost cartoon look to them.

New insignia could be designed by the introduction of an oak leaf cluster surrounding the existing insignia to denote one half rank up ...

Re: Throw down the Gauntlet - Pistols at Dawn *Pending*

The idea of a 'Challenge' game reminds me of Chess club league ladder at school (over 40 years ago). Then the aim was to progress up the ladder. The rule then was you could only challenge a player who was under 4 places above you. A player could refuse, but could not refuse 3 challenges in a row ...

Topic: All first round reinforcements should be EQUAL

Plutoman has put it a lot simpler than I did.

In a Freestyle game you have the choice of when to play.

In a sequential game you have no choice in the matter.

However every player should have an EQUAL start.
We are all given the same number of territories to start with.
We are all given ...

All first round reinforcements should be EQUAL

Hiya all,

Of more relevance to a sequential game, but still applicable to a freestyle game.

All players start with the same number of armies and the same number of territories. Shouldn't the reinforcements for the 1st round only also be equal for all players.

Imagine the scenario, it's your ...

I have looked more closely at the calculation, and found that it uses visible armies and visible territories as it's basis.

BOB already calculates a reliable value of territories held and I believe this should be source of it's calculations.

I propose an adjusted to the algorithm using TOTAL ...

Extra to above post.........

I have just performed a few test additions using Nobuo, and the calculation works. However this uses the VISIBLE number of territories. Shouldn't the equation be adjusted to use the CALCULATED number of territories.

Thanks for the info Nobuo and Yeti_C

That's just what I wanted. I knew it would only be calculated on known infomation but I thought if I knew how it was calculated I would be better advised when to rely on the raw numbers and when to take it with a larger pinch of salt.

As a result of the ...

Many thanks Soundout9 and RisingSun for your replies.

I appreciate that the strength value is a mathematical calculation based on various factors, I was enquiring if one of the programmers would share the actual algorithm that is used. Therefore I can determine what reliance if any can be placed ...

Lift Fog of War for players eliminated from game

Hi all

I'm a newbie both on Conquer Club and to the forum.

I've just been eliminated from a game in which I thought I was doing quite well. (Obviously not well enough!) However as the fog of war still lies on the battlefield I can neither see the layout of opponents on the map nor make an ...
