Re: WWII:Poland [Beta]

I agree that there should be at least one trritory that planes can attack. I played a game where I was left with only planes but had over 30 armies, plus a mixed set to cash! I could've got back in the game if there was at least one territory available . . . . perhaps an airfield or something would ...

Re: Japan - 日本 [D] - Gameplay Discussion - UPDATED 8-1

Yeah, how random are the examples? I know it's hard to forecast all possibilities but looking at the 2-player drop: green only needs to take a lone neutral (which he can attack from two points) to bag Hokkaido and red isn't facing down any of his borders.
If green is up first it could be game over ...

Re: [POLL] Japan, Land of the Rising Sun[D] - Gameplay

I cast my vote for 日本 and am glad to see it is soaring ahead in the poll!

For the record, Japanese people usually pronounce it "Nihon" with "Nippon" (the source of the derogatory term "Nips", coined by American soldiers during WWII) much less common and mostly used when referring to National sports ...

Re: Japan, Land of the Rising Sun - 11th revision pg8

I vote 日本. That's how "Japan" is written in Kanji -- I see no reason to write it otherwise.

Re: Japan, Land of the Rising Sun - 10th revision pg7

Is "Land of The Rising Sun" necessary? Seems cheesy to me.

This comment should be dismissed .. If land of the rising sun is cheesy to you . Then what would you rather call it?

I'd rather it was called Japan!

Being a resident of Japan and having a Japanese family, it sounds cheesy to me and ...

Re: Japan - 9th revision pg6

You're right about the gameplay, I had noticed that too. Regards the name, I agree it is too big. Perhaps lose the ships and reposition the name bottom right in a smaller size.

Great to see this coming along.

Re: Japan - 8th revision pg5

I think the flag looks fine, and considering it is still in use by the Japanese Self Defense navy, I don't see how it could cause offence.
I'd be more concerned about the bushido quote and the hanging lantern which seem to clutter the map unnecessarily.

Just my thoughts.

Re: Japan ----- Again!

Great! Good Luck.

I recommend you consider including ports (eg: Hakodate, Sendai, Yokohama, Kobe, Kyushu, Okinawa, Shikoku). ;)

Japan ----- Again!

Hi,

I know it's been tried several times before, but can't someone please revive plans to produce a Japan map.
I have a few ideas of my own, but I have never been involved with designing a map and wouldn't know where to start.
Any takers?
