Re: As a map maker...
I agree with what Oak said - vague comments are useless. It's also a pain when someone posts comments that have all been addressed, or are marked in the first post as "please don't comment on this, I know these things need changing already." Here's an example:
Graphically it is kind of dark. The ...

Re: The Balkan Peninsula [D] (v14 pg. 1&10) April 5
Sorry guys, been buried under schoolwork again. The only thing suggested above I don't agree with is a bridge from Central Greece to Peloponesse, mostly because I find the bridges ugly and that that connection doesn't add much to the gameplay. Everything else will be changed - I'll try to fit in ...

Re: Greenland [D] - v17 on p1&10 › decaying ice routes
I think killer neutral would be better than decay on the ice routes. Ice routes are something you pass over quickly, not something you hold onto for periods of time. But I agree that they should be made thinner.

Yes, it does. Anyone else have trouble seeing this? Should I exaggerate the border?

Re: The Balkan Peninsula [D] (v13 pg. 1&9) March 30
I think the Kyklades connections are more understandable now that the path to Euboea is gone.
There are two army spots on Plovdiv
I'll throw up a version with 88s shortly. I believe they'll be able to fit on all territories, but we'll see. If they don't fit, I have room in the legend to add ...

Re: The Balkan Peninsula [D] (v13 pg. 1&9) March 30
Ian, your analysis is spot on as always! I'll change all that for the next version. My only concern is the land bridge from Attica to Euboea - I don't think there's room now. I might have to fudge the Attica border with Central Greece further west.

i was thinking that you could make the dotts smaller, and closer together, i think that that would look better.
The dots became too invisible when I made them smaller, but I liked the look, so I also darkened them. I think they're better now. But the change is too minor to warrant a new version ...

I would like to see the blue of the water be darken so it sticks apart better from the land. Also make the edge of the land seem more of a border, a a quick glance it seems the land just begins to turn blue

Re: The Balkan Peninsula [D] (v12 pg. 1&9) Feb 22
as mentioned by _42 , montenegro does not split neatly into two parts, so let it be a neutral-starting single-territory bonus, like kosovo. give an extra territory to slovenia, with the names in the unplayable area. let euboea be part of greece as a tenth territory. this will preserve the nice ...

I'd go a bit lighter than Mibi's green, but definitely use Mibi's water, and darken/desaturate the grass a bit. I could go either way on the beaches.

I think if we make enough small bonuses, the drop rate will even out.
let me demonstrate by using the example of flipping a coin, whre p(xhyt) is the probability of there being exactly x heads and y tails.
2 flips: p(2h)=1/4=25%, p(2t)=1/4=25%, p(1h1t)=2/4=50%; 50% chance of even split.

adding euboea will be fine for gameplay. at the moment, that big grey island simply looks annoying. classic north america has 3 borders and 9 territories, just like our greece. one more territory won't make much difference to the fact that greece remains an excellent place to grow slowly in a ...

I don't have an issue with this because I always use the large, but if I was someone who had small as default, I would probably not be happy with the size of the small.

So the only difference between this and the current system is that people who want it get a PM to remind them that there's a map nearing the final forge? Seems somewhat useless...wouldn't most people just comment on the maps that are at that stage anyway if they're interested in the map? I mean, it ...

You could add the other Greek island as another territory (the one that is currently grey)... I'm not sure what it's called though.. I think it's Khalkis or Euboea or Evia...
You've also got the Ionian Islands (Corfu, Lafkas, kefalonia, Zakyanthos) off the West coast of Greece
