there would be a certain number of slots in the name of eight announced candidates on each side -- more for front runners, fewer for also-rans. Your choice would have a small influence on ultimate outcome:
- less competition in the first round, for also-rans

There are at present no credible declared independent candidates. If there are before Summer 2008, my format provides for their wild-card inclusion in the Presidential Election.
