I agree on Firefly and Battlestar. The first season of Heroes was good, but downhill after that.
I saw Moon in the theater, and was thoroughly entertained, but don't know if I would ever watch it again.

I'll be a reserve if needed. Can I still win the tournament if I get in early enough?

Re: I don't know what my opponent is doing!!
I looked through the game log, and I don't see anything unusual. If he was stalling, he would have started taking neutral territories. I think he was just playing cautiously, or had bad dice.

Re: Tournament Creation Limits? [Poll Added By NS]
I've read through a lot of the comments here, and I think the root issue is that people have a hard time finding tournaments that they like. I know that I prefer longer, more complicated tournaments, but have trouble finding them in the create/join forum.

Don't forget that they had the same motivation too. They both wanted to get on TV and make lots of money.
No, wait, that's not right. They both had a message of peace, forgiveness, and salvation for the world?
Wait, they're not similar at all...

Re: The_Dayman (and carrier7)
This is suspicious. Why does someone who has never played before take their turn 2 minutes after his opponent? If he's watching the game that closely, why didn't he play in any more games besides that one? Because he was called out in the game chat as a multi?

Re: ins and outs of team play
you don't split bonuses if your team holds a continent. Generally you would want to agree who is going to take over the continent in the team chat first. The only time I would attack my teammate without their approval is if it's escalating, and I'm going to knock them out and take their cards to win ...

Re: When to turn in flat-rate spoils
Good mathematical analysis, but game situation is more important, I think. If you can reduce your opponent's bonus by breaking a continent, or getting them below 12 territories, or if you can take (and hold) a continent, or knock out one of your opponents, then it's worth it to take the cards right ...

I think you have a lot of great ideas here. What about the guy who is invited by his friend. his friend starts a game, but then he discovers that he can't join it, because he hasn't unlocked those settings? That would be more frustrating than anything else.

Re: Fox poll on Palin's popularity
The largest number of Americans seem to feel that those who do buy the Palin book will do so because they really want to read it (35 percent). Just under one-third (29 percent) think book purchasers will do so because it's a trendy thing to do, and one-fifth (20 percent) feel people will buy the ...

Re: Relaxing Weekend Turns
One other monkey wrench to throw into the mix. If you have relaxed weekends, how does that work with Freestyle games? One of the draws of freestyle is that I can log in once every 24 hours, and I always know that I will be able to play. This would mess that up.

Re: Hide cards
If you took this function away from the site, someone would write a script (or add it to BOB). The only thing this would do would be to handicap new players/those that don't use BOB.
Maybe you could have a true Fog of war setting, where the entire game log is hidden, including the number of cards?

Sunny and foggy are two completely different games.
Sunny: Deploy on 2-3 countries, and don't attack 3s or 4s unless you have 8 or 9 armies. don't worry about cashing first or last, you can win from any card position. For example, if you cash as soon as you get 5 cards, you will have 3 cards the ...

Re: New Medal Levels of Achievement beyond Gold, Silver, Bronze
I would be against lower level medals. I don't think that many people would be excited about them when they are first starting out. I was excited enough about trying out all the maps and settings.
I'm assuming the purpose of a "tin" medal would be to keep people interested. Lack would have more ...

Hi Semp,
Does a block prevent them from playing doubles together as well? I don't think that they should be blocked from team games together, but just curious if the system is sophisticated enough to manage that.
