having gotten round to playing on all maps yet, but I know that I don't like the freestyle game (go Sequentialism! - sequentialists have a plan... just one step at a time :P )

I prefer flat rate cards to escalating - certainly think that leads to a more balanced game...

Great Britain Map - defects...

Hi, the Great Britain map has quite a few errors of geography on it...

For one thing - the Granpians are actually spelt Grampians... and I don't think they're in the right place...

Oxfordshire goes too far north, Cheshire and Shropshire are too far south (Shropshire should actually be called ...

This isn't a scheme as such, but it is something that I heard on the radio.

It's a soloution for home-owners who have ran into financial difficulties.

What happens is:

You sell your house to these guys
They rent it back to you
You can buy it back in 3 years at a fixed rate

Sounds like a great ...

Re: the poll

people shouldn't be punished when missing a turn was clearly not their fault but because of some real life even that was more important.
surely if something in real life is important enough to prevent you from being able to play your turn in the 24 hours limit, then you're not going to be ...

to win a game, you would have had to win more dice rolls than lost, surely? so, wouldn't the winner be more "lucky"?

now that was not a scheme lol that was well thought out plan.

And it is true I think that Women fall less for these schemes then the male population. I wonder why that is!!!
I don't know - but I know that as soon as something has a "sale" tag on it, no woman can resist purchasing the item - even ...

before i came here, I played a realtime version of dicewars which scored based on where you finished up...
it certainly affected the dynamic of the game, since people were not necessarily trying to win (you could come about middle and get a positive result from the game)...

that said - could ...

You dont understand, why limit the people that can join your games, you are obviously VERY NEW HERE
yes, i'm new here - but since when does that have any relevance on a person's ability to make a suggestion about anything? You have absolutely no idea what experiences I have had outside of this ...

yes - i could spend hours searching through everyone's profile to find people near me, or there could be a system which allows games to be restricted to timezones/regions when they're created and then you can search for games in those timezones/regions (along with the other search options).

how ...

what's not to understand?

with those players in those timezones it can take 2 days to complete a round

if everyone in the game was in a smaller range of timezone (like, 3 hours difference max) then games will progress faster - granted there will be a long stretch of inactivity in the game ...

Timezones...

Problem
I'm currently playing some games where we're spread across about 14 timezones (South Australia to United States via Europe)... and if the order of play is a bit whacked, then we can be waiting a couple of days between turns (even without deadbeats)

example:
Player 1 in South Australia ...

i don't think that restricting the turn time to less than 24hours is a good idea - I'm playing a number of games where we have Australians, Europeans and Americans - so, we're kinda spread across the globe, and seeing as I'm about 14 hours ahead of the US west coast, i think we're stuck with the 24 ...
