this is probably a very noobish question, and one that i would find the answer of soon enough but would rather find out in the forum and adjust my strategy to suit;

for team games are region troop bonuses awarded if the team controls the region or only 1 one person controls the region? if so do you have to kill off other team mates from the region to get the extra troops? how does this work?

you can only get a bonus if you and you only have all the territories within it.

Yes it means if you want the continent you have to kill who owns any of those countries. Sometimes in team games it isn't worth killing your team mates country, you might lose more troops than you can afford.
