Hats off to Bono and U2

Bono seemed to hesitate before the said "and also a Palestinian dream." I wonder if he was considering his options. Anyways, I'm glad he said it.
Barack's gonna find out politics isn't all talk and music and dancing. Interesting times ahead.

I think he planned to say it, but I'm also glad he did.
Though he could have easily avoided it with an "and also... a global dream!"
Anyone else think the crowd, including Obama and Biden, was rather unenthusiastic about them?

They showed Obama shortly after Bono made that statement...he didn't look too happy. That damn Bono had to go and bring politics into it!!!

It's rather sad that when someone makes a simple mistake someone else always feels the need to make a statement as Prowler just did. The forums are much better when you mute the twenty or so that makes these kinds of statments.

What are "
statments"?
Relax.
You should lighten-up and not take things so seriously.
I guess I missed the

and

to keep it all a good-natured, silly jab as it was intended.
Obviously the guy just made a simple typo as did you.
But isn't this interesting? I think you do have a valid complaint. You are just directing your complaint at the wrong person.
I come here to waste some time with some relaxing conversation, to read some different viewpoints on some subjects, to give my thoughts on a few things, and sometimes make a bit of a joke. I don't come here to intellectually compete with others. I get enough stimulation in that area in my real life. This is my time to relax.
But there
are many people here that look at everything as a contest. They are confrontational. They desire to not only be respected by others here, but they desire to prove themselves
better than others here. I could certainly name names. But that would just kick-start these people into "intellectual contest" mode and start a big circular "debate".
mccallan25, just look at how you responded to my comment. You were very negative. I admit, the kind of joke that I made was a kind of negative humour, but it was very lighthearted. A response of "Of course they teech spealing!" would have been equally lighthearted and kept things relaxed as they should be here. But you are a victim of the environment. It is so often a competitive, unfriendly environment here. It is hard to know when to relax.

To sort of get back to the OP, i havent seen much of the days events yet, im sure ill catch it later. Id imagine its a bit of a tricky day one message and certainly something that wont have been missed by many interested listeners there. I imagine we are going to get bombarded over the next month or so with all types of information about what "really happened" in Gaza. Its just amazing that the more you read about any of it, the less compelling any of the solutions seem to be.

It's also rather pathetic that someone would write three or four full paragraphs defending his e-persona in a totally unrelated topic.

Did you misunderstand?
I was only defending myself when I said
"I guess I missed the

Is the recession putting everyone in a bad mood?

I'd say they should put more effort into writing a song that doesn't suck than pretending to save the world.

No. Let them carry on with something they have a chance at.
