Only the 16 winners will progress to round 2. 4 games of 4 players each, same map and rules.

The 4 winners of Round 2 will play in 1 game of 4 players for the Champion of Champions title.

Rounds 1 and 2 have been seeded. So the best player (by current scoreboard placing), has been seeded No 1 and will play the 17th best player, the 33rd best player and the 49th best player.

Progress report: All but one game in round 2 have started. 59911 lingers on despite my efforts to change things up, and 59915 has not seen any progress in the last 300 rounds. Riyanna currently looks strong in 71771. There was a quick continent grab in 78737, and 78738 has just started up.

Thanks, it was quite an epic battle for a while near the end, lots of close calls.
Now I have to wait forever for that last game to finish though

A critical and devastating logistics error on my part made my second round game interesting again. It set me back 3 turns, and in the meantime the other two players have allied against me.

A small faction of soldiers in Canada are performing exeptionally well, fending off attack waves though severely outnumbered, of mention is the now fallen province of Quebec. Meanwhile mjtrish who was sentenced to almost certain elimination until my blunder with deployment made a speedy recovery in Africa, pushing back my forces on Madagascar and East Africa, and we are now battling over Egypt.

This tournament is awesome! We should make it a quarterly event. I'm even thinking about re-running it in December-January.

-Everyone knows how to play, so there is less uncertainty about stupid maneuvers giving away the game.
-Everyone is a great sport!
-There is room for diplomacy without tears, which introduces a psychological, strategical, and diplomatic meta-game impossible with the dynamic essenses of new players (Above all, I love playing Risk or its versions totally unaffiliated with Hasbro for the negotiation and interaction factors).

Many times I have advanced to the final round of a tournament (Wacicha's Premium Giveaway, Gladiator Games, Highborn's Doubles Tourney... the list goes on), but never have I actually won... Good luck to all of the other semi finalists, I'm waiting just ahead.

Bump- not because anything has happened (nothing ever happens in the two remaining games ) but because this fell to the second page and thats a pain to find.

Awesome igot- I had stopped keeping track of these games really closely, but I'm glad to see the guy who made the big attacks to get down to two players ended up prevailing.

Unfortunately, that one Round 1 game is still going on and no one has been eliminated. It's round 110 and all 4 players are still in it and have 100s of armies! I don't know how this tournament will end now because I know carmoil said he was done playing and I don't think Riyanna is around any more either.

Anyway, we shall carry on!

I'm still checking back occasionally and will finish the tournament if that game ever ends, so don't give up running the tourny on account of my not playing anymore.

No worries carmoil, I will invite you when the time comes, but we are still a long way away.

But there is some huge news!! After 132 rounds the first player was eliminated from 59915. Bondra finally bit the deadbeat bullet which leaves 3 players left (and still over 2000 armies I do believe).

Let's just hope the last Round 2 game and the finale don't last as long, when they are finally created.

Almost 6 months and a 152 rounds later, round 1 game 13 has come to a satisfactory conclusion.

Oh man guys! After waiting all that time and the excitement of that game being over, the next games slipped my mind. I'll fix this all right now...the last round 2 game is set up!

Note: Mighty King has not logged in since 1/15. If he doesn't return in 10 days he drops from the scoreboard completely, and I will create a new game for round 2 with only the 3 of you (carmoil, panzer and cyber).
