Well, that's no surprise, McCain's staff are also being wishy washy. They're basically saying "we will see", although considering it's up to them I'm not sure what they're waiting to see.

I don't know where you can watch it, being in the UK and all - but I'm like pretty sure there will be a debate. And if there isn't... Obama wins.

There is no way they are getting the bail out package through. The Ameican people won't have it.

McCain will not debate.

Whether because he thinks the appearance of dissonance on the bail out will cause more loss of confidence, or because he just hasn't been briefed enough to understand what's going on... I don't know.

I think McCain had a gut reaction which was: no bailout. Then the President said, hey, the money's going out the door with our without you... so fall in line.

It's very sad to see how Bush continues to screw over America, and just like in 2000, John McCain has to play the role of the good Republican soldier, bend over, and take it up the A$$ for the unity of the country and the leader of the free world.

Now I think Obama is unreliable and doesn't understand the economy other than through the lens of redistributive "pander" politics, but now the doubts about whether McCain can lead, or are we really going to be able to rely on him?

Please, just impeach Bush now. He cannot be trusted in office in these last 4 months. For him, it's all house money. This is now getting tantamount to treason to go on television and try to "educate" the American people by scaring the be-geebers out of them... after you sicked your cabinet lackey on Congress and scared them into dumping a load in their drawers last Friday which incited the immediate panic in the first place.

I know a few people in prison who do that stuff. It's called extortion. Bush, go directly to jail buddy. Do not pass Go! Do not collect $200. And bring your cheerleader uniform... it will make you very popular with the other inmates ;)

I don't like Bush either, but the bailout HAS to happen, or you're totally fucked and the rest of the world is almost totally fucked.

It's not all bad, look at what happened in Japan. Pretty much the exact same situation, though property was actually even more over-valued. Government steps in with 100bn, banks have to agree to not be such tits, make losses for a few years before returning to profit, government eventually makes money on the deal by selling off what they buy for more than they paid when the market recovers.

It's unfortunate for the Japanese that the US decided to commit financial suicide just when Japan had recovered, but they'll pull round if you do the only sane thing and buy up the debts. Otherwise it's 1929 for the US all over again, only this time when you recover, China will own you.

McCain is doing terrible! Oh my God! Does anybody look more frail, frazzled, and pasty than McCain? Only thing is that the moderator is trying to get them to talk directly to each other, but they are being very hesitant and are still talking directly to the moderator....Ron Paul would be talking DIRECTLY to their opponents!

Except around here, most folks watch Fox news... or make that the Republican news.

"You already gave them to the oil companies..hehhehheh! (talking about tax breaks and then he looks down like a submissively shy schoolgirl...McCain is weak, Obama STRONG)...

Ron Paul would eat and spit Obama OUT! Too BAD NeoCons...your only chance of staying in power is to destroy the country ALL the way this time...maybe a NUCLEAR device in a few American cities will do it! That way you guys can just establish your little dictatorship to its fullest.

SPending Freeze...national defens, veterans affairs, and something else....

McCain's brilliant plan to fix the economy.

Obama comes back with the Iraq war bogging our economy down....pure brilliance!

Ron Paul would do one better on this little issue...

McCain th Maverick just called Obama the most liberal member of Congress
and says that the system is corrupt and that he knows how to deal with it.

If you are outside the "viewing area" and want to hear it... try NPR.org.

"I don't want to hand the Health Care system over to the Federal Government"...McCain

What! But you are willing to hand over this bail out to secretly to Good Ol' Boys? Our economic system will be totally nationalized!

Obama just pointed out a lot of points were McCain was wrong on his judgment on the Iraq War and McCain just shook like a volcano...easy, Johnny...easy!

McCain is lost...studders and stammers the whole time when he answers.

McCain just needs to blow up and turn red and start screeching at Obama and then walk out of the hall. That would be better than what he is doing right now!

Obama is winning this debate, I am afraid to say...Only Ron Paul would be able to beat Obama in this debate right now.

Now McCain says that once "we chased the Russians out of Afganistan, we should have stayed in the region"

I thought his eyes were gonna fly away like a pair of butterflies.
