American Football v Football

I would like to use the current season as a test to see what teams in The NFL and Premiership and how they perform throughout the season.
From this one years football we shall use the results (good and bad) to prove which type of football gives more surprises and ultimately is more interesting than the other.

I know we can't use a single season as a good average, but lets just see how it goes.

I'm going to need some Americans to post for me a table that i can amend.

This is also a very good thread to make claims as to why your sport is better than the other and generally flame seven shades of shit out of the other side. Have fun, and may the best sport win!

I don't want to flame. Astonishing. I've lost the will to abuse and make gross generalisations. Shit. Next I'll probably grow some ovaries.

American football is fine, it's rugby for people with ADD, whatever. You want to watch fat guys wearing sofas run into each other for 10 seconds then have an ad break? Fine by me, it's still more entertaining than rugby league. Plus, y'know, cheerleaders.

Football is the best game on the planet however. Not sure about the compare and contrast thing, can't we just go on how many people watch the respective sports? Because about 300 million people watch Premiership football every week, and that's just one league.

Last year the Atlanta Falcons only won 4 games. This year they have a new coach and a new quarterback. They have won 2 of the 3 games they have played so far. At least for this American that is exciting.

As far as American football goes I find college football to be much more enjoyable. The NFL is relatively new compared to the college teams that have been playing since the late 1800's. There are a lot of old rivalries and traditions in college football. I'm a University of Georgia Bulldog fan myself.

DON'T DO IT AMERICANS!!!

IT'S A TRAP.

Just let the faggy little limeys whine and complain and try to prove that soccer is more important (when no one even CARES what they think) and let's just stick to our own thread about football.

Honestly, it's rather flattering to know how much they care about soccer to try desperately to convince us that their sport is superior, when none of us even CARE.

ps. Jets suck.

pps. Frigidus, stop, you're only encouraging them.

Oh God, you're right, what have I done? No matter which way this vaguely defined experiment goes, both sides will simply reaffirm that they are correct, and perhaps demand that the thread be locked and that the other side is banned!

Then again, that's par for the course here at CC.

What do you think this is, a civil discussion forum? They didn't let me in, remember? Forgive me for not caring about unclever morons who repeat the same bullshit over and over again. They aren't original, and they don't deserve my justifying their word-vomit with a real response. I have never seen one of these assholes touting "real football" offer any sort of legitimate argument as to why their sport is "better," whatever the hell that means. They don't "resort to petty insults," they start with them. And until someone decides that they can actually formulate an intelligent argument, I'm not going to reply with one. So piss off, dear Illy, unless you have a real argument to bring to the table.

So in response to an actual argument put forward: how about before we try to compare the two sports, we see who plays it more, and who watches it more, you decided that didn't constitute a real argument. So tell me sir, what does then, in your humble way of life, neo?

Popularity does count as a valid argument when arguing which form of entertainment is better. That was a shit comparison and you know it.

nice thread, pedro. i think you'll have to give the NFL a little more time, we're only thru 3 games out of 16 in the whole season....and the actual way you intend to determine "excitment factor" or parity or whatever isn't really clear......

while i love both versions of football, i would say that american footy is probably more exciting in the sense that anything can happen at anytime. someone can take it the distance at a moment's notice. this isn't true in soccer, at least high level soccer, that is.

plus, i'd think there is much more parity in the NFL than EPL. the big 4 in EPL are always up there....but in the NFL the mix changes a ton every year.

ps: ROLL TIDE!!!!! beat them dawgs!!!!! (but i hope georgia wins every other game this year)

It's really not when you consider that entertainment is subjective, and any sort of investigation of which subjective form of anything is better is absurd.

Oh, just shut the f*ck up you tool.

This thread is about the relative entertainment value of two sports. And if you can't see how viewing figures relate to that, then you're a moron. And fat.

So cock off, cuntface.
