Arm the planet = peace in our time

I've weighed up the evidence and I have to agree with gabonx. The only path to world peace is to follow the american model and arm everyone.
Welfare programmes should provide a semi-automatic rifle for every newborn child regardless of background, even black kids. "A mortar in every home" - that's our motto. Only by arming everyone to the teeth can we prevent the thousands of senseless gun deaths each year, which only happen because not enough people have guns.
And it should shape our foreign policy, too. So Iran wants nukes - we should help them. We should help every sovereign nation that wants the bomb, because otherwise we put ourselves in the hypocritical position of essentially waving a gun in an unarmed man's face- and pissing all over his inalienable and constitutional right to own a huge fuck-off arsenal of death.
Who ever said arguing on the internet never changed an opinion? Your human rights rhetoric has convinced me that 'mutual assured destruction' has an entirely inappropriate acronym, and I thank you for it.

i've bought myself a gun, and since i got it i've been able to shoot 5 potential muggers in the head, therefor avoiding any crime against my person.
guns for the win!
EDIT: results just came back, one of them was a 78 year old woman. my bad. hey, at least i'm protected, amirite?

The solution is not to arm everyone, but to kill all the scum who are lawbreakers. Do what China did, cap all drug addicts and dealers in the back of the head.

First: I am not this Norse (even though I am, technically, nordic, both in this life and in many past lives, which have all been germanic) person.
Second: If you want a solution that is quick and has tangible results, then I'm dead serious. If you don't want such a "drastic" solution but want a different solution than the one already being pursued, then you're pretty much shit out of luck as far as your options go, short of reprogramming people, via some method of thought control, to not do drugs.

Yes, that is a ruthlessly brutal solution. Not very elegant, but that was NEVER your cup of tea, and certainly not a very ethical solution either.

If you do that new criminals and muggers or whatever will just fill the street. Im with the opinion of Arming everyone. If everyone is armed no one wants shoot because they will be shot back. Kinda like the cold war. Except think happier..... hopfuly.

No, what they'll do is shoot, and then be shot (or not, because of mob psychology... hell, just go read the other thread. A sarcasm detector (for the OP) would also be good.
