The New Yorker caricature of Obama may have been intended as satire but for those who listen to the words that come out of his mouth and pay any attention to the kind of company he keeps, it becomes evident that it may not have been so far from the truth. If you doubtthat he said these things click the link and you can hear them in his own voice. If that isn't enough go to a book store and check out Obama's Dreams from My Father.

So what is it you are so scared of , the fact that he is black or that he is a Democrat, either way your racist insinuations appear somewhat desperate.

I'm afraid of the fact that he's a radical who associates with unrepentant terrorists and himself has a racist and radical rhetoric which is impossible to discuss without being branded a racist by self proclaimed intellectuals.

I would vote for Condoleezza Rice, Collen Powell, Hillary Clinton, or even George W. Bush for a third term, none of which are ideal, before I would vote for Obama.

The left has not taken an objective look at Obama and the fact that anyone who criticizes him for anything is branded a racist is very disturbing.

I DO NOT GIVE A SHIT! Obama is no saint, he doesn't need to be. If he was running for president in my country (not that we have one) I would probably make fun of him all the time because of his right-wing views and large penis, but he isn't and so I don't have to critically view him. I want him to be president because he is far better than McCain who in my eyes is a dangerous fucking retard who will basically f*ck up america and the world even more.

If Obama did say these things, it tells me that Obama going to Rev. Wright's church for all those years either influenced his beliefs or further cemented them. It appears that Obama wasn't just sitting in that church, ignoring the crazy things Wright preached, but he was actually absorbing those sermons.

I'm totally with this guy - expunge all the whiteys!

Seriously, it's taken from a fucking book which might as well be about how lovely kittens are for the next 200 pages. I'm sure critics wouldn't have said "Marvellous, a thrilling read" if any of this shit was really put in there in such a context.

Read the book before you use random phrases out of context, and fail to reflect the passages they come from. And for interests sake, since I'm South African I feel no particular way about Obama. It's pretty low, although surely anyone with a modicum of sense can see through it - an assumption that this thread has done nothing to counter, by the way.

Not sure what you're talking about in regards to partisanship and the notion that reading quotes made by the person in question is idiot bating shows that you really don't have a counter argument aside from childish name calling. His words speak for him, Barack Obama is a radical (probably a racist black supremacist) whose ideology we have only scratched the surface of.

I take offense to the notion that because I bother to investigate a candidate, something which very few Obama supporters are willing to do for fear of what they may find, somehow makes me a racist. I would vote for a black candidate for President in a heartbeat if he supported equality as opposed to financial segregation, American culture as opposed to undefined "change" and most importantly strength as opposed to weakness. Barack Obama is on the wrong side of all of these issues.

Hopefully this thread takes a more civilized turn although I realize this is unlikely as their are real flaws in Obama's character being discussed here.

I thank Gabon and you for telling me about this. I had no idea. He just seemed so charismatic, I admit i didn't know anything about his policies but he seemed honest and I would have a beer with him. He seemed like a decent bloke, I have lots of black friends and they're all very cool and intelligent, it seems not every one of them is though.

See, I actually read the book. If you actually want to know anything about Obama's politics, read his own words in his own context, and find out. Don't just take a quote someone else

Why don't you try to rationalize the quotes for us? Words have meanings and the meaning is pretty clear. People are sick of the games politicians play when they say one thing and then claim that they meant something completely different and it's not going to fly here.

Still, it couldn't hurt to hear your interpretation of the mentioned quotes...
